    ...with flowers.

    When did you make them? I'm afraid the flowers will wilt. How many days in advance can you make them....?

    I did my centerpieces, which were all roses, on the Friday morning for my Saturday wedding. I kept all the flowers in my aunt's basement and they stayed absolutely beautiful. The flowers had been deliverd from the flower exchange.com on Wednesday. PM me if you have any specific questions.

    I did mine the afternoon before the wedding. We picked a flower that we knew would hold up easily and it would take a lot to kill them.

    For my friend's wedding, the flowers were arranged the Friday before the wedding. There were arrangements with flowers and gel beads for the reception centerpieces and arrangements without the gel beads for the ceremong decor. And all the reception centerpieces were dead, dead, DEAD on Saturday. Another bridesmaid and I had to run interference and come up with a plan B on the fly (dump the dead flowers, "float" candles on the beads in half the vases and reuse bridesmaid bouquests for the other half). I don't know why the flowers died (I'm talking brown, wilted, leaves curled) but because the centerpiece flowers and the ceremong flowers (which were beautiful) were both purchased from the same place (Sams Club, I believe) the only thing we can think of was that it was the gel beads.

    Another lesson to learn about this is you can't control everything and no matter what, it's still your wedding day and it will be wonderful.

    @VegasBaby: eeeek!!! scary.

    I'll probably do them the night before my wedding with my BMs.

    I mentioned fake flowers to FI and he hated the idea. :-/ I almost prefer them because then I can just make the centerpieces a week in advance!

    The florists I met with told me that they usually start making the arrangements about 2 days in advance - but the personal items (like boutonnieres) get put together the morning of.
