About how long do you expect your ceremony to be? I'm guessing about 45 minutes, but I just am not sure until we have our rehearsal...

I am guessing 40 mins or so... I am getting married in the Anglican church though, but I think it is basically the same service!

Ours was 50 minutes, signing of the registry surprisingly took a while.

We were told about 45 mins. But then we decided to add a unity candle. How long does that take?

Seriously, oh my goodness, we just decided to have have a catholic ceremony without communion. We got no love for that. In fact, even my bridesmaids said, "What, you can't do that?!" How has your family reacted to it?

@alina_mac, my mom was a little upset at first, but my fiance is not Catholic, so I explained I didn't want our first act as a married couple to be divisive and something that only one of us could participate in. She still wasn't too keen on the idea, so I further explained that our priest had strongly recommended that we do it this way (which is true.) She's kind of gotten over it at this point. It just wouldn't have made sense for us - though I am Catholic and wanted a Catholic ceremony, my FI's whole family is not, and my father's whole side of the family isn't either, so just 1/4 of the guests would be able to participate.

Average will be around 45 min.  Depends mainly on the amount of music and homily length.
