Are you factoring that into the total amount you are spending on gifts for them?  I've decided to pay for one service for each of my bridesmaids (even though I wasn't going to require them to get anything professionally done), so now I'm not really sure how much I should spend on their gifts.

I was thinking approximately $100 on gifts for each, but now maybe I should spend a little less since I will be paying for their hair or makeup.  What are you guys doing?

I have sort of budgeted hair and makeup as another vendor. I am still going to get my girls earing to wear for the wedding and I haven't decided what else. So I am going to spend around $100 for gifts and pay for hair and makeup on top of that. I was just in a wedding where it cost me almost $1,500 and our gift was getting our hair and makeup done. I would have rathered a gift to show appreciation than getting my makeup done which I could have done for myself.

Maybe you can just pay for their hair and then get them a gift around $50.

Yes, I am paying for their makeup and yes, I'm factoring it in... I knew they'd more htan likely get their hair done anyway and make appointments - but to me, makeup was more of a splurge so I am giving them airbrush makeup apps. - I spent a about $100-$110 on each girl, including the makeup. I'm also covering tips for hair and makeup for everyone. (plus they are my regular stylists so I want to give them a little somethin')

They're also getting tote bags, flips, makeup bag, shower gel, lotion, a candle and personalized necklaces. - Guys are getting RayBans, socks and a tie. haha -- hope that helps!

I'm paying for each girls hair and make-up but I am not factoring it in to the overall cost of my bridesmaids gifts. However, for my wedding, each of my bridesmaids is traveling, paying for their hotel room, etc. As none of them are local, I felt that I had the responsibility to pay for their hair and make-up if I wanted them to have it professionally done. Also, since I know that each of my girls is spending their own money to travel, I wanted to show my appreciation with a gift. I plan to spend between $100-$150 per girl for their gift and I have 7 girls. A small price when I look at all they are spending to support me on my big day.

i am paying for hair, makeup, and possibly nails...still havent decided on gifts but i think it will be a small(er) but very thoughtful gift.

i was looked at like i had two heads when i told a couple of my coworkers that i was paying for all that!!!! i just think its the least i could do. i really dont want people to have to stress over that stuff, esp with practically everyone coming from out of town!!

Ehhh, I'm not factoring it in, but then again I surpassed any sort of reasonable budget on this longggg ago.

I'm spending ~$50 on gifts for each bridesmaid, and that doesn't count hair, makeup, and nails.  You only live once, right? ;o)

I'm paying for them to hair their hair and make up (and probably nails) done. I wanted them to look good and didn't want them to have to worry about the cost, especially since two of my girls are unemployed and the others don't make very much. I counted it as an added expense and am not factoring it into their gifts.

I am paying for my 4 bridesmaids' dresses and hair. For their gifts I'm giving them handmade clutches, silver flip flops, necklaces (to wear with their dresses), and wrap. Originally, I was going to give them Tiffanys necklaces and pay for their make up on top of all that but when I added up the entire amount I was spending, it was already at $300 a girl! I hate to have money dictate my gifts but for me personally, I think it means just as much to have most of the BM items paid for and to enjoy the time with the bride, rather than see what gifts I can get out of it.

I'm paying for my BM's hair and makeup and that is around $150 per girl AND I paid for their dresses and that was $180 each so I'm thinking that will be their gift. I might get them something additional, but haven't decided yet...

I never really "budgeted" for BM gifts so I can't really answer your exact question. I wanted all of the girls to have their hair done, so I paid for it ($60 per person). I also gifted them a Coach clutch with mints, chapstick, and a nail file + jewelry to wear for the wedding. Between hair and gift I spent about $130 per person.

No - I am not factoring their hair+makeup cost into their gift.  The budget for hair + makeup is coming out of our wedding budget and the budget for their gift is coming out of my pocket (non wedding budget.)

I'm subsidizing their hair and make-up to keep it at $100. I'm also making jewelry for them, so that'll be worth another $25-ish. I guess I'm spending about $70 on each of the girls. For my dude of honor, I bought him a pair of old-school Vans for the reception. I bought myself the same pair and now we'll look like Rivers from Weezer (our favorite band).

I'm paying for their hair but not their makeup.  I didn't factor it in with the gift.  I'm spending about $150 per person for the gift.  I figure I would pay for hair since it's not something they would normally do themselves.

I am paying for the dresses, hair and makeup, and two nights hotel stay but I am not factoring that into the gifts. I am still planning on giving them gifts since I am getting each person something as an individual. I am collecting the gifts for each person already so I should have a few things for them by the time the wedding rolls around.

Keep in mind we are having a destination wedding which is why we are paying for all of that.

I didn't factor in hair/makeup into the gift.  I did buy her dress (let her choose whatever dress she's wear again in black) and a couple accessories for the day of.  I went easier on the gifts since I did buy her dress...got her a clutch for the wedding day and probably some liquor!

I am getting their makeup done, and that along with a handmade "pearl" bracelet to wear for the wedding is what their gift is. I dont have a lot of money to spend on this part, so I am paying for most if they decide thats what they want to do. Otherwise I will get that person something else.

I'm paying for hair and makeup..I didn't factor it in..

I also paid 50 dollars towards each of my 7 B.M's dress..

Got them a bottle of Champange,

Necklace from Jcrew, A candle gift set, lotion and body wash, lip gloss, nail file and a hair flower.

Plus paying for their dresses to be hemmed (they are long) after the wedding if they want to.

I hope they appreciate it. I had over a year to plan it so I bought things little by little.

I paid for my bridesmaids makeup and they paid for their hair.  I also made sure to include the tip in the amount that I paid.  I didnt factor this into how much I wanted to spend on each girl since to me, paying for their hair or makeup wasnt part of the their gift.  If you want it to be considered part of their gift then of couse I would factor it in, but make sure to let them know that as well.

I'm factoring it into their "gift" amount, at $50 pp for 6 girls. I'm also getting them a tote bag, jewelry bag, and a bottle of champagne. But I'm also 23 and recently out of college (read- poor).

Hmmm...I'm paying for hair and MU (about $180pp, including tips) and dress ($100pp).  The wedding is local, so my BMs shouldn't have too much expense (and no destination shower or bachelorette party).  I was planning to also get them each a small piece of jewelry ($30-50) and write them a nice card.  I'll be paying for a lot of smaller expenses before the wedding as well--BM lunch, hair accessories, etc.  All in all, I'll probably end up spending close to $400 per bridesmaid.  I really don't think of the gift (outside of the dress & hair/MU) as being a must though.  I think a card or letter telling them how much you appreciate their help and friendship is really important, and everything else is nice to do, but not necessary.

I was originally just going to do gifts but decided that I really wanted my girls there while I had my hair and makeup done so I made appointments for all of us. We'll have a salon to ourselves for this time so it should be really fun. I know that they wouldn't pay to have this done themselves so I hope it'll be a nice treat. I'll also be getting them gifts that I budgeted for separately, but I'm not spending a ton.
