I say both too! If you had to choose one, I'd say the day that you have your wedding. The courthouse is a formality, but the wedding is when you stand up in front of everyone you know with them acting as witnesses and make that promise to each other. It's more symbolic than legal, yes, but in a way so are anniversaries.
hmm I really don't know since we aren't doing the courthouse. I'd probably say the big ceremony because your guests and others may likely consider this as your anniversary...

I know there are SO many reasons people get legally get married before their "big" planned wedding, and that sometimes they don't tell a lot of people about it. Which date do you use as your anniversary? I've always wondered that!
