I would not be taking tests for a potential pregnancy with a dollar store test…ever. High chance it won’t be accurate! You get what you pay for.

As_You_Wish:  I’ve only ever used dollar store tests to make sure I’m not pregnant, as we’re not TTC yet.  I don’t much about them but can’t funky results come up if you leave it for a while?  Which is why they say to read the results in a certain time frame.  I’d test again.

lexie1114:  The dollar store tests are actually quite accurate.

As_You_Wish:  I’ve never taken a dollar store pregnancy test, but did you wait until the time specified on the test before you left it?  A dollar store test is probably just as reliable as the cheapy amazon ones I have,  and just because there is something there I would get another one and test again.  Good luck!

As_You_Wish:  I took a dollar store test before buying a more expensive test and it was a faint line. I’d take another if you can… I took two just incase something went wrong with the test.

The dollar store tests are pretty accurate, but if you waited past the time it might be an evaporation line.  Did you take it first thing in the morning?

That looks more like Dye run than evap to me.  Perhaps too much urine? I would just test again!

I used dollar store tests when we were TTC and when I first confirmed my pregnancy. It was either blank or a clear line – never blurred like that. I would take a new test asap.

I love the dollar store tests. They showed up for me the same day as FRER, and are obviously a lot cheaper. They are very accurate. With that said, that does look like it might be a dye run and faulty test so I would definitely get another to confirm or check again!

I like the dollar store tests too since then you can save the expensive tests for when you know there’s a line! That looks more like faulty dye to me than a real line. I’d test again.

I used to work in a pharmacy.  According to the pharmacist, a cheap pregnancy test is just as accurate as any other.  The tests are all the same, some are just packaged more nicely, have better marketing, and are therefore more expensive.  Also, when left out past the required time frame, some will create a blur like that, creating what looks like a positive.

hmmm that’s questionable…. I would just take a couple more!! Since this was your first cycle since pregnancy, I wouldn’t put too much stock into AF arriving late, but I’d definitely be testing more to confirm either way!!
