@JacobsMama:  I did a combination–my bouquet, MoH, and toss bouquet were silk flowers so they could be kept, and we made the centerpieces out of red roses, greenery, and a few touches of cornflowers.  The whole shebang cost about $250 for 14 centerpieces and the 3 bouquets.  My favorite thing is that I have my bouquet, now disassembled, in a vase in our dining room.

If you keep your centerpieces simple, it’s definitely do-able.  We got the flowers from the grocery store (colors pre-ordered) 2 days before, unwrapped and trimmed them to let them open up a bit.  We spent a leisurely afternoon arranging them in the mason jars the day before.

Go real. They look great, and if you choose fragrant flowers, oh my! Our venue smelled heavenly, even our cars smelled amazing for like three days after the wedding. For the rest of my life the intoxicating aroma of stock flowers (below) will take me instantly back to our wedding day.
