I worked two jobs, full time college and raising my son. Not easy! Scheduling is key, having a plan in place would help and also having back up of a back up of a back up of daycare.
You have to be careful of the workload of the classes and timeing of any labs that may come with some classes. I remember having classes that only had labs at times when I just couldn't get a sitter, so I had to wait to take those classes until the times lined up better.
Planning for class workload with your DH will help a ton. If you already have it scheduled with him that you plan to study on such and such days at such and such times, that would just make it alot easier on both of you in keeping the surprises to a minimum.
Sitters, ugh, sitters. Larger daycares will not take kids if they even have the slightest of fevers, even if they are just from cutting teeth. Most professors don't care about having no daycare so having backups will make days like that a little less stressful. Another backup for the backup, I HIGHLY recommend. You would not believe how many times I ran into issues with backups.
It's not easy, but in the end you will be able to say " I did it!"
@Tswife4ever: I have seen many many many women, my mother included (single mother) who have done it all & been very successful....like the PP said: it's hard and your have to be extremely organized. If you don't need to work right away I say take your time. I know it will be super hard missing those first years with my child so i'll try to do as much as I can while they're asleep.I just plan on doing as much of it as I can at night and online. I am starting my masters degree right around the time I plan to get pregnant so I will have to stop that...have the baby and nurse...and go back a little while later.
...honestly I'm scared. I want to finish it in a timely manner but if worse came to worse...i'd wait until the baby was 3 and put them in a headstart program of some sort? Only because at least then they're learning something instead of sitting there at daycare. My DH works until 7 so he's no help expect maybe for picking up and dropping off :/

did you go back to school? Did you finish years later? Did you go back right away? How did you handle motherhood and college?
