So I was under the impression that someone from the church would be provided to do whatever music needs to be done for the ceremony – now I’m not sure that’s happening. My Fiance called church, and they said we should call the musician to arrange something…what if he/she can’t do the wedding? We didnt know we had to arrange this separately!!!!
How did this work for your church wedding?

Most of the time the musicians keep their Saturday afternoons pretty free for this sort of thing – after all, it is only an hour of their time. We had a list of 5 musicians to call, and our first choices said yes. We had to call them, and then email our music choices.
If NONE of your church musicians are free, I’d ask for a recommendation from them – they probably have lots of musician friends in the area 🙂

He JUST called and said he’s busy that weekend! ahhhhh! He recommended someone else, so we’ll call tomorrow.
Wish me luck!!!! Why did I leave this for so late 🙁

Good luck! We had to arrange for the organist and vocalist separately, so be sure to ask anyone you are in contact with whether they play your preferred instrument (piano, guitar, organ, or whatever),as well. I also forgot about this at first, but remembered in time to book somebody. Try to keep calm, and contact this person as soon as you can! If s/he can’t do it, it may be a good idea to try calling around to other local churches and asking whether their musicians are free that day (and for how much).

Aw good luck!! It’s frustrating when you think someone can do something then they can’t, but hopefully this guy’s recommendation comes through for you!! 🙂
