What do you have left to do as far as planning? Do you feel like there’s a lot more to do? Do you feel overwhelmed? I feel like there’s a lot more to accomplish in the next 6 months and it feels a little overwhelming that it’s crunch time. Does anyone else feel like this?

I’m in nursing school so I have no time to be overwhelmed lol. We have all major vendors booked except the cake baker and limo. So we need to do invites, 1 more marriage counseling session at church, rent tuxes, dress alterations, meet with the dj, make reservations for the rehearsal dinner, get bridal party gifts, hair trial run, make programs, set a day of timeline, pick our menu, and of course make all final payments. I’m sure there is much more I am forgetting lol

@alevesque2000: Date twin!
I booked venue (ceremony, reception) which includes food, tables, chairs…
I booked photography too, a friend offered to do invites
I mostly have to work on decor and my dress, but I wont start until next year.
I’ll have simple stuff and have lots of friends and family willing to help so I am ok! 🙂

@mmr66: I understand you about school. I will graduate the weekend before the wedding, will have the honeymoon, then return to the state to sit for my boards lol.
I still need to…
1. find a hotel to block off rooms
2. decide on/rent tuxes
3. food tasting
5. dress alterations
6. decide what we are going to do for rehearsal dinner
8. hair/makeup trial
9. programs/day of timeline
10. Many DIY projects
I’m so glad there are others out there that still have quite a bit to do too. Someone I work with is getting married the weekend before me, and it seems she has so much more done than me, which might have caused me a little bit of anxiety.

@alevesque2000: I still need a DJ & and Officiant. Those are the big ones. There are a lot of details that I have to deal with, I’m expecting a few good freakouts.
and pretty much everything else that the PP has mentioned….

@alevesque2000: I feel like the most important things are done. Not stressed at all yet, but maybe it will come as it gets closer.
1. Venue (ceremony and reception)
3. Cake (plus custom topper)
4. Dresses (mine, BM’s, Mom amd FMIL)
5. Invitations and enclosure cards (designed them myself)
6. All reception decor and rentals
7. Ceremony music chosen
8. Sound system rental (no DJ…we are doing it iPod style)
9. Night of honeymoon suite booked
10. My band ordered
11. Hair (doing my own makeup)
Things left to do:
1. FI has to choose groomsmen and finalize his guest list
2. Suits (FI, groomsmen and Dad)
3. FI needs to find a wedding ring he likes
4. Choose flower girl dress
5. Confirm flowers
6. Confirm officiant
7. Choose bridal accessories
8. Purchase bridal party gifts

I have to take bridals, have dress altered, hair/makeup trial, book DJ, book florist, decide on centerpieces/bouquets, buy his wedding ring, book honeymoon, get favors and all bridal party/parent gifts, pre cana, buy shoes, book limo, invites, book videographer, decide on a menu and I’m sure there is something else I’m forgetting.
I didn’t think I had a lot to do, but when I type it up, woah!

I have a TON to do, but a lot of it is on hold because our wedding planner is on holiday, and also because we’re also planning our civil wedding ceremony in Australia in January. So that’s kind of taken priority over our actual wedding in May, which is in Bali.
This is how we’re looking so far:
– Venue deposit paid
– Photographer deposit paid, flights booked
– Wedding planner deposit paid
– Waiting for quotes from two florists
– My wedding band (antique courtesy of future MIL)
– Invitations at final stage of proofing
– Attire for both of us
So we still need to figure out band/DJ/string quartet, bridal party attire, food tasting, makeup trials, find a local assistant/second shooter for our photographer, videographer, accomodation for guests and wedding party. I also need to start sorting out my personal to-dos like teeth whitening, getting my hair coloured, maybe facials etc. I’m sure there’s a bunch of stuff I’m forgetting right now!

@alevesque2000: We are getting married in Rio de Janeiro and we still have so much to do.
Completed so far:
Booked the group flights
Rented the two penthouses for people to stay in
Contracted our wedding planners
Sent out the first newsletter to our guests
Ordered my dress and had my first alterations appointment
Order her suit
Selected the ceremony site
Ordered the cake topper
Select makeup artist (she’s traveling with us! YAY!)
Still left to do:
Select the reception location (we are very close though)
Select the menu
Create the playlist for the DJ
Select reception decor
Select the cupcake style and flavor
Order our shoes
Book the spa treatments for the penthouse
And probably a host of other things I cannot think of at the moment. Really stressful planning a wedding from so far and not being able to actually see/touch/taste/smell anything in person. *SIGH*

@alevesque2000: I feel overwhelmed!! I’m in a doctoral program so I’ve done NOTHING since August, which was just before classes started. I have loads of DIY projects left. I’m most concerned about my wedding invitations. And the biggest part is how shall we pay for the rehearsal dinner and the reception balance due. I haven’t even taken my engagement pix yet! Just got the shirt for my ‘perfect outfit’ today. I have this feeling that it’ll all come together. I just don’t know when!
finalization of invites, centerpieces
Make up artist

Yay May weddings!
I feel like there is so much, but I know we have accomplished a lot, too.
We still need to do our Pre Cana next month, final flower meeting, cake tasting, alterations, finish bridal party gifts, rent tuxes, programs, seating chart, actually meet with the DJ, find someone for hair then do the trial, honeymoon plans, rehearsal, final payments, girls shoes, and more.
we have our venues, limo, DJ, invites ready to go, girls dresses ordered, my dress/shoes, most addresses ready to go, hmmm I know there is more!
I can’t believe how close we are getting! Good luck ladies! We can do it!

Time’s flying by! We’ve accomplished a lot, but there’s still quite a few smaller details to finish:
left to do:
-engagement shoot (comes with photog package, using pic for a signature mat)
-Pick/buy bridal accessories
-bridesmaids order their dresses (already picked)
-book rehearsal dinner space (chosen, need to finalize)
-finish DIY invitations
-DIY projects (table squares, table numbers, escort cards)

@mmr66: I have the same schedule too, except everything is one week later than yours lol
@ButterflyBride5: I’m in a doctoral program too! What is your idea was for your rehearsal dinner, as I’m totally procrastinating on that one. I could care less what to do for the rehearsal, although it will be nice to spend some quality time with our closest friends and family. It needs to be “cost effective” though as most of our budget is consumed by the reception venue, and I have yet to determine what that might be.
What is everyone else doing for their rehearsal dinner?
@MagnoliaBlossom: We really are so close to the big day! I remember last Christmas wen we got engaged that a year in a half felt like a lifetime away and that I had so much time! Now, it’s not so far away!

@alevesque2000: The major things are booked!
Settle guest list
Fiance buys suit
Put together welcome bags
Little decor things
Write vows and ceremony
