I had so much fun planning and designing for my forest wedding/reception, that my new husband and I are now considering opening a forest wedding venue.
I am curious how many brides would be interested in a forest wedding. I found a lot of farm sites when I was looking for an outdoor venue but had a hard time finding something deep in the forest
I’d love any comments and suggestions from forest brides.

Would be very interesting! Some of my concerns would be:
For the Ceremony:
How do we get out to the middle of the forest
How far would guests have to walk to ceremony site (potential issue with elderly)
What type of seating is available
Bad weather plan
For the Reception:
How far to walk/drive to the nearest reception location
If reception is also in the forest how to deal with bugs/heat around the food/cake
Would music be allowed?

I especially love the first picture of the two of you walking. It reminds me of when my Fi said he wanted to get married on Oct.
I’m always been curious about the bugs! How would you control that especially since there’s cake and food. There’s beautiful forests everywhere here in my Fis hometown and I’ve learned the hard way that all the pretty tall grass fields were actually tick havens! I don’t mean to give you a hard time, but those are the questions I’ve been worried about.
That said, I’d love a forest wedding, it is still one of our options, but for practicality sake, I we’re leaning towards a pavillion by a lake, it will provide ground cover in case of rain in Oct.

How gorgeous! Totally not feasible where I live, but if I’d gotten married down where my parents live, we essentially woudl’ve been on a lake, surrounded by tons of trees.

we had a Forest/Meadow wedding in the beautiful Sierra nevada mountains. Here are a few of the more “foresty” pics and if you want to view more you can check them out on our photographers website! http://theyoungrens.com/blog/?p=1243

Thanks for all your input ladies! Mrs. Espresso and Brandonsbride, your forest weddings are gorgeous!
Thanks also to Caszoz and Vitsippa for sharing concerns. That is all great information to think about.

your photos are beautiful! I would love a forest wedding but I’d be worried about the details like rain plan, restrooms, mud, transportation, etc.

If your concerned about bugs then it’s best to do it at night. Bugs seem to go away as soon as the sun goes down also you van have differenct cariatoins of bug spray svailable for your guests (another friend that had a forest wedding did at as soon as the guests showed up) Dusk is probably the WORST time to have it becuase that’s when all the mosquitos are out in full force. I had very few bugs on me and it was mostly just gnats… they got caught in the double layers of my dress 😛 haha

I am not doing a forest wedding, but 2 people in my WP are planning on them! I think it’s a great idea

This is my dream wedding, the forest with a view of the mountains maybe. We will be doing this in Colorado through an elopement company. I loved looking at all the forest wedding pictures!

I think it’s a great idea! It would probably be more popular if there were specific “venues” out there with ties to vendors, etc that would make it easier for brides to plan. I think your idea to start one is a cool one.

I would absolutely LOVE to have a forest wedding! But, unfortunately our location/budget doesn’t accomodate those dreams. There are provincial parks in our are that are absolutely stunning, but the cost of renting/booking a campground/area
is pretty high in and of itself, not to mention the fees charged for parking, and the hassle/fees of getting chairs/tables or food out there…
I always ADORE pictures of ceremonies taking place under the trees. I even said to my FH that if we were magically millionaires, I’d love to get married in somewhere on the west coast in the middle of a redwood forest “that’s nice hun, keep dreaming” haha!
