Classic! I always forget dates too! FI is the one that remembers when we started dated, when we first kissed and when he proposed. Me, I can remember when he proposed and that's it.
My advice is write it down. Write it everywhere you can so you won't forget.

I NEVER remember dates... anniversarys, birthdays, etc. I was born as a girl by chance, I didn't sign up to be the sentimental, thoughtful one! He remembers everything, which is good. Keeps me from getting in trouble.
Ha! One of my friends admitted that he also has no idea what his actual anniversary is, and when I was all, "Won't Amy [his wife] be pissed when she finds out?!", he told me that she can't remember, either.
You know, it makes sense to me! You eloped, got married on an island, and it sounds like a good enough story for me! My parents forgot it was their 25th in August. They had to think long and hard about how many years it'd been, even tho it was a big annieversary

me: ummmm.... whens our wedding anniversary?
him: (looks at me)
me: i mean the actual date of our wedding anniversary
him: are you telling me you do not remember the date that we got married
me: well i remember the day we got married... and the time we got married....
him: and
me: just not the actual calander date
him: you are telling me you do not know our wedding date... oh honey, i got you good now!
and so it begins... a lifetime of him having something to throw back at me every time i nag him about forgetting something. i can see it now, me asking him if he remembered to take out the garbage and him saying y"es dear and i remember our wedding anniversary, can you?"
my only justification is that we married in a 3rd world island with zero newpapers, tv, computers ect so i lost track of the actual date after a few days..... well thats my story and im sticking to it!
