Continuation of this thread.
Ladies…after heavy thought, I have decided to rehome my beautiful Pnina Tornai that I purchased through Church Street Bridal. I have attached photos of the dress, retailed at $8,500 through Kleinfeld in NY. She is 100% silk and very lightweight through the bodice with a slight bubble hem at the floor and a chapel length train. I have not altered her at all, nor had her cleaned. I have kept her in the bridal bag that Church Street recently shipped her in and she is all ready to go to her new home. The floral strap is very delicate and needs mended, since it is missing flowers that can be moved from beneath the “pouf” in back and up the shoulder strap. The strap can also easily be removed or shortened, as desired. The dress itself is in gorgeous condition, but will need to be cleaned as it was a sample dress. PM me for details and more photos if you are interested! Thanks, ladies!
I’m so proud. Our little thread became a very, very big thread! 🙂
@YSQueen: To be completely honest…the dress is simply not very flattering on me. 🙁 It strictly has to do with my body type (ZERO hips) and the way the silk is designed to cling to and compliment one’s natural curves. It is an unbelievable dress (as you can see on the model) and I just don’t do it justice. I need more boning and natural shape in a dress or at least a fuller bottom to imply curves. Ha.
Copied fr prev thread (sorry for the strange paste job!):
Okay, since you are our eyes in the shop, I hope you can answer a few questions (love you, by the way). 🙂 I am very interested in the Alvina that you recently posted, the Lazaro size 20 for $450 and LOVE the Vanitas size 10 for $400! In your humble opinion, which of those dresses would be in best overall condition? Do you have any more Vanitas or similar European sheer/”exotic” gowns? I am looking for something fitted at least through the hip with romantic appeal. Also, do you know if there are any complications with sizing down a dress from a 20 to a 6? I know the Lazaro is furthest from my actual size. Thanks, Michelle!!
The Pnina is an unaltered size 8, to those interested!
Keep in mind, the back is lace-up and allows for some flexibility in size. 🙂
@mduncanywca: Oh, don’t feel about about the new thread being started! I’m part of another thread that is on Part SEVEN!!!
Having new threads started isn’t a bad thing! 🙂
@boombacha: 🙁 Did you try a similar style on before buying it??? It’s AMAZING how a gown that looks amazing in a photo can look horrible on your body. (Been there and done that… loved the gown, but it looked pretty blech on me, lol. and I can pull off almost EVERY style there is!!!)
@boombacha: Is this from you Boom? Do I need to answer this? Jeannine is SO absolutely sweet to be committed to helping us but she is one busy little bee (no pun intended…although it would be cute-HA!) in her day job so I will try to help you girls as I don’t want her to run screaming from us one day!! LOL!
