Congrats! I just booked the pavillion yesterday! It's so beautiful!
I wanted my wedding at city park also, but it was cheaper to do it in Kenner. So we are doing it there. I reallyyyy wanted it in City Park though!!! hmph lol.
@Sgatz: what have your experiences been thus far with the response time from your coordinator? I ended up hiring my own wedding planner b/c I felt like I wasn't getting the attention that I needed as a DW bride.
How is your planning going?
I haven't contacted her since the day we booked. I picked the venue, bought a dress, found the photographer and booked a photo booth. After all that I was too stressed to even think about anything else. I really should try to get in touch with her because I have a lot of questions about the lighting and sound for the ceremony. It's hard for me to stay focused because I feel like my wedding is still so far away.
@Sgatz:We are date twins and city twins!!! I'm getting married at Southern Oaks. I see you're getting married at City Park - it's sooo beautiful! Congrats! Do you live here?
@khf777: yay for a date and city twin! We looked at Southern Oaks but decided on City Park instead. I loved the staff at Southern Oaks though...they were sooo pleasant.
We don't live in New Orleans, but we just moved down to FL so we are a little closer. My FI is from New orleans though.
How is your planning going?
As for a videographer, I recently booked Blink, LLC. Christine was very quick to respond to my emails, and I'm excited to work with her. I also considered Dyle Films.
@mrsbdell: Oh wow....how is your wedding planning going? Were you at the tasting in January. I absolutely loved the tasting! It was a great way to get the feeling of the venue.
As for a videographer, I booked Your Day Productions. She seems to be really good but at half the cost of a lot of other people that I spoke with. Both Blink and Dyle were on my love list, but I simply could not afford them.
Yes, I was at the tasting, and it was so much fun! I'm local, and I've been to two other wedding receptions at the Pavillion before - it's always a great party with great food!
Planning has been going well. I'm about to get started on invitations. I can't believe how close we are getting!!!

I found a venue and I am so excited that I wanted to share! We will be having our ceremony and reception in City Park. The ceremony will be in the Peristyle and then we will head over to The Pavilionof Two Sisters for the reception.
Anyone have any experiences with City Park? Do you have vendor recommendations for videographer or DJ?
