I’m new here and would like to hear your opinion about my dress. I found the one! I love it! Love it! Love it!
Background about me. I’m a petite bride to be. Only 5’2″ and 95 lbs. And even though I’m head over heels in love with my dress, I’m afraid that it’s going to swallow me and make me look even shorter than I already am.
Please be brutally honest with me. What do you think of my dress? Is it too puffy or too big for me? This is the picture of me trying the dress for the first time.. It’s in ivory, but somehow it’s photographed as a white 🙂
Another question that’s still bugging me.. Do you think this would look better with belt or no belt?
Is it too big for my petite figure?

I think it looks great. If you are worried about it swallowing you up, you could always remove a few layers of fabric.
I definitely think it needs the belt! It’s a bit too plain for my tastes without it.

LadyMarble: beautiful! i think the belt breaks the dress up and keeps it from overwhelming your frame 🙂

I voted for no belt because the dress’s style is SO unique already. I would do an amazing statement necklace, headpiece, or cardigan instead. EVERYONE does belts.

I love the dress (you can pull off a ball gown even though you’re petite!), but I don’t like the belt because it looks yellow. I think you could do a very thin sheer belt with a little beading, but you don’t need it. I would go for some great earrings or necklace and skip the belt.

I think it looks perfect on you…and I also love the belt with it!

Thanks everyone for your nice wonderful comments.
I’m torn between having a belt or not having one. Sometimes I think it’s too plain without a belt (spot on Mrs. Fireworks). But some other night.. I just wanna keep it simple and classy..
Hahaha, I don’t know why it looks yellow on the picture. It’s actualy the same ivory color with the dresss. Probably it has something to do with the lighting.

Ohhh, I love, love, LOVE your gown and it looks so beautiful on you!! I personally like it simple, without the belt, but there’s no wrong way to go here. Congrats!!

I love that dress and it will look amazing after it’s hemmed to the right length. I do like the belt but I think it needs to sit up higher on you. It looks odd at the placement in the pics. If not, I really like it without the belt as well and leaves you room to have some amazing accessories (blingy necklace, bracelet, earrings, veil.
You look gorgeous in it.

LadyMarble: The dress is lovely, and it doesn’t swallow you up! It is very flattering, but you definitely need the belt to define your waist!

I like the belt – helps define the top and bottom of the dress much better.

I don’t liek the belt b/c it sits in the wrong place. Because the waist goes down lower than your natral waist and a belt should sit right at your natural waist.. the way you have it to looks like its slouching and just doesn’t look quite right.

Thank you. That’s very nice of you to say that.
Noted. Thanks for your feedback ladies.
So I need to put the belt higher.. Hmm.. I may try that once the dress is here. I just ordered it last weekend.. Uh ah.. So excited to try it on my size.. That’s a size 2 sample dress.. And the sales person told me I would look even more fabulous when I try it on my true size. Finger crossed!!!

It would look beautiful either way, but I think without the belt, it looks really fresh and fashion-forward. You could pair it with a statement necklace instead of a belt!
