Personally I do not like the idea of a sash at the point where the top meets the lace. I’m sure some other bees will chime in with some other great dress options, including replica. Good luck!

I don’t think a belt would work out well there, but it if it’s sparkles you want, could you (or your seamstess) just sew on some strategic rhinestones throughout?

I would look at casablanca for some similar, more reasonably priced dresses

I think the criss-cross is too high for that- you would have to get a really big belt. it’s possible if it were the right shape, but it might be better to find something else.

I don’t think that dress looks anything like the Kenneth Pool. It doesn’t have that scale-like beading, or really anything similar at all except the top part.

If you just bling yourself out with some statement jewelry would that be enough?  I agree with the others that it might look strange with a belt.

There is a thin crystal sash on Etsy I saw the other day that would look perfect with that dress. I think the trick is not to go toooo wide.

@Miss Leopard:  I agree,

I don’t think they are very similar at all, and I like the first dress much better. It’s gorgeous! I would really look into replicas. I’ve seen some great ones, and several bees have had good luck.

You might be able to find a used one- have you tried sites liek once wed, etc.? I don’t know if half off would be in your price range, but it’s worth a look!

I see that your wedding is in may of next year, I would hold off of getting SM dress… I think you have plenty of time to look for a dress more similar to the Kenneth one, beading or not… even though I like the second one… but whats your budget I like lurking dresses cause I don’t get dress regret lol

I do love Estelle and her poofier sister, Mesmerized. Good taste.

I don’t know if the belt will work here but it doesn’t hurt to try!

Here’s a blog that lists some similar feeling dresses:

Also look at Amsale, Reem Acra and Christos.
