Just got a reply from the seller that the dress is still available!! :D SO HAPPY!
I probably wouldn't add cap sleeves, there is a lot going on with the dress already less is more.
@KatyElle: That is a good point. Its quite busy. I'm going to go very simple with jewellry and veil etc. The dress is bling enough. ...I just love cap sleeves! I Never pictured myself in a strapless dress. Do you think a simple plain silk bolero in matching fabric would work?
It's beautiful! I'm glad you got your dream dress within your budget :) I think the cap sleeves may look to much, but you can always drape some fabric there and see.
p.s Does the models arms look weird or is that me?
@Blue-Bird: no they look weird. lol. Here is a non-hungry looking person wearing the dress.

@Roux: Her arms look good :P It's a really pretty dress. Have you brought it from her yet or is she auctioning it again?
I'm trying it on tomorrow in the same size as the one she has. If I like it, then I'll buy her dress from her. She isn't planning on eBaying it again right now. If I don't buy it, I assume she'll try to sell it again.
Also, she is advertising the dress, veil, hoop, and hairpiece for $2000. The dress hasn't been dry cleaned. Do you think I should try to get the price down to cover dry cleaning? Or ask her to dry clean the dress without raising the price?
I think I would skip the cap sleeves. The dress is lovely as is. Less is more.
I think that is so pretty! And definitely forgo the capped sleeves!
@Roux: You could possibly get her to take a little off to cover dry cleaning, Since she tried once unsuccessfully to sell it she might be willing.
You'll have to post photos of you in the dress tomorrow once you try it on!
lol, okay okay, no capped sleeves. ;)
My bridesmaids will have capped sleeves then. I'm obsessed.
I did! Just waiting for my mum to email me some photos and I'll upload them.
I tried the champagne one on in a size 12, which was a bit too small, I'd need to lose about 10-15 pounds, which is fine because I'm planning on losing 20-30 anyway.
But I could also get the pink one shown above in a size 10, which will obviously be much smaller. I don't know if I could lose that much, so I'm going to find a 10 in a sample at a salon and try it on and see if I could fit into it by December next year.
Argh, don't know what to do! :(
There is probably some overzealous photoshopping on the arms in the first picture. the dress looks great on the model, but I can't wait to see pics of it on you!
@Roux: Loved the "nonhungry person" language! You are so cute!!! And that model definately needs a cheeseburger.. or 12!
@Roux: I seriously wouldn't spend your entire budget on a dress that is 2 sizes too small in the hopes of losing weight. I think you should pass on this dress and wait longer, you still have well over a year! I bet you'll find this dress again, and closer to your date so you can get it in a size you're more comfortable with. It's not worth the stress and possible disappointment, you know?
I also wouldn't add anything to the dress, it already has a ton going on - but if its what you love, then do it!!!
There seems to be a lot of negativity about bodies on here. Let's celebrate every body, thick or thin. :)
@KristenGotMarried: I know it seems like a terrible idea to buy a dress 2 sizes too small and try to shrink into it. But I can't afford this dress brand new, and I'm in love with it. I'm going to try on a size 10 and see if its possible. I've definately got the 30 pounds to lose, because I lost them all back in 2009, but they found me again! This dress also has a corset back so its a little bit forgiving in that area.
I'll let you all know how I go trying on the 10!

Months ago I tried on and fell in love with a dress, then had to give up on it as at $4600AU It was waaay outside my $2000AU budget.
Till today when I stumbled upon my dream dress, in my dream blush pink, for $2000 on eBay! Plus the lovely bride is throwing in her veil, hair facinator, and hoop skirt for no extra charge! The auction expired last week with no bids, so I've emailed her to see if its still available. Cross your fingers for me that its still for sale!
And here is the dress: What do you think? I want to add cap sleeves to it, and maybe lose some of the tulle at the top, but the beading and skirt are to die for.
