I am so excited I found my dress! I had been to David’s Bridal twice, and thought I may have found my dress there (a lovely Melissa Sweet with an illusion neckline and POCKETS), but I had an appointment yesterday at a bridal salon where a friend works, so I didn’t say yes until I had exhausted all my options. I am a plus sized bride, so I was worried that all the sample sizes would be way too small, and wasn’t interested in trying anything on that i wasn’t able to at least a good idea on how it would look, so I didn’t try any samples in smaller than a 14, which worked incredibly well, especially since I was only interested in ballgown or a-line dresses (I tried mermaids/trumpets/fit and flares – some hippy girls can pull them off… I am not one of those girls). After about 6 dresses (including a BLUE! dress with glitter on one of the tulle layers – cuter than it sounds, I promised)…I finally made my decision!
I chose a Casablanca 2077, which was the first dress I tried on in the shop! I was honestly shocked because I have been OBSESSED with the Allure 2701 since I became engaged. I even got to try it on. I was in love. But I kept going back to the beautiful beading (which I was also adamant about not wanting – I wanted only lace, darnit), and how beautiful I felt wearing it, so I gladly chose it. My mom started crying as soon as I said “Yup! This is the dress!”, it was so cute.
Anyway. Here is a pic of me in my 4 sizes too small dress!
