Hi all – I found my dream dress for my October wedding – absolutely in love with it! Now I need to think about the right jewellry to compliment it. Our wedding will have a vintage/shabby chic vibe to it, so I am thinking a chunky necklace might look nice. Curious to know what others think…delicate, chunky, or no necklace?

@weird_bunny: Good point! I am thinking of using hair extensions to add body, then doing a half up/half down style. (My hair looks awful in the pic! We were going to the spa after dress shopping!)

I think you could go either way, but I like delicate jewelry better on the whole. 🙂

I’ll leave the accessorizing to the pros, but I just wanted to say contratulations on finding your dress!!! It’s lovely!

I love the dress! What designer/model number is it?

That’s so pretty!
If it were me, I’d wear no necklace and instead pair it with dangly earrings.

I’m not a huge fan of pink but my gosh that is a gorgeous dress! I love everything about it and you look so beautiful in it! I love the neck line and I think if you wore a necklace it might kind of take away from the “wow” factor of the neck line. I’d wear no necklace and some really pretty earrings.

I would say skip the necklace and go for some nice drop earrings.
Also, wanted to say your dress looks amazing on you! I see that you live in Toronto, what bridal shop did you get it from?

Wow! Thanks for the words of approval on my dress! When I first started looking for it, I compared wedding dress shopping to shopping for a bathing suit. It just wasn’t a fun experience because nothing looked right – nothing took my breath away. I thought that maybe I was just going to like my dress, not love it. And then I found this one by Watters and totally understood what everyone meant when they said ‘You’ll know when you find your dress’. Thanks again for the feedback – much appreciated 🙂

@Toronto2014: I think it’s beautiful! However, I’d steer clear of a chunky necklace, because I think it could really overwhelm the neckline and take away from the dress. I’d go for a pretty, delicate necklace personally. Let the dress shine!

@Toronto2014: That is a beautiful dress and it looks wonderful on you! I think a chunky necklace would detract from the lovely detail on the bodice, but if you’re going for a vintage/shabby chic look, I would suggest a simple string of pearls 🙂

I LOVE your dress on you, it’s seriously gorgeous! I could see a delicate necklace looking great on you, but without also sounds awesome.
