Hey bees!! I found a dress that I am SOOO in love with.
So I am starting alterations soon and need to pick out a hoop. I don’t know if I should go smaller on the hoop, bigger, get it sewn in etc….anybody with a fit n flair / mermaid that ran into this issue??

I have no experience with mermaid but wanted to say that dress is absolutely stunning!

Wowza! I love that dress and you in it 🙂 It looks fine to me without a hoop or added anything, but not sure the look you are going for.

Gorgeous! Can you tell me the name of the dress?

Love that dress! I got my Allure dress at a small bridal bouqutique, but ended up buying the fit-n-flare/mermaid crinoline from David’s Bridal since it was the only place I could find one (and it was only $50).

Thanks ladies <3
@future mrs: Thank you so much! The boutique I bought it from actually designed and made it. It is a Paradiso -Lorraine. I tried to google it everywhere but you’ll only find it in their two boutiques. One in Chicago, and one in Royal Oak, MI.
The sash is a different designer. Toni Federici
@Mrs. Fireworks: Thank you!! Do you have a pic of it? would love to see if you don’t mind. I’m wearing a hoop from the boutique but not sure how I feel about it. Great idea, I will check them out 🙂

I wore a fit n’ flare and ordered a double hoop skirt off of e-bay. The hoops were adjustable too, which was great.

I also went with david’s bridal’s fit n flare slip and it worked great for my dress!

are these pics of you in the dress or on a dress form? To be honest.. I don’t think the dress needs a hoop.. it looks fluffy enough

I asked my seamstress about sewing the hoop in and for some reason, it wouldn’t really work. Also, she said it makes it much more difficult to store after the wedding.
My photographer was IN LOVE with my hoops. She had another bride in the same dress earlier that year and said she spent all her time following her around and poofing up her skirt.
I think this is the one that I got:

@MrsNeutrino: I’m in the dress and I am wearing a hoop in the pictures. Without the hoop the dress is not poufy at all
