Hi there Bees 🙂
After much searching (and finally accepting that my dream dress, Maggie’s ‘Emma’ was double my budget) I said yes to a dress this week! My Mum and I went shopping at a place called Luv Bridal in Brisbane (for all you other Brisbanites out there – check it out if you haven’t got your dress yet!). The dress is one of their own designs, and it’s new so there is no model pic as yet.
What do you think? Did I make the right decision? My only hesitation is that it is not the slim a-line shape I always dreamed of having, and this has caused me some heartache for a few days when I realised I actually wasn’t going to get that shape. But I loved the dress when I was in it so much I was wriggling around the store, so I guess that says something!
It is an ivory colour, with beaded lace.
I’m thinking of adding a sash to it – suggestions? Or go without? Also not sure what to do with necklace/earrings. I’m not a big necklace person (I wear a moissy on a gold chain most days, and that’s about it) and don’t like bracelets on me at all, so I was thinking blingy earrings, maybe with pearls?
I want to have my hair up in a low knot (or something similar) with a comb and a veil, but not sure what length veil to go? Or what type of comb?
Let me know what you think!
Also, forgive the back view of the dress, the train is all scrunched up, it shows much better in the pic on the mannequin!

I think a blingy belt or a coloured sash, and a sparkly necklace 🙂 Thanks for the tip about Luv Bridal!

I think the dress looks great – I love the back of it and I am not normally a lace-up-back-liker. However, you have a long neckline, so I would accessorize it with a necklace (maybe pearls and rhinestones on several threads). Also, I’d suggest a slim, blingy belt! Don’t have a reference picture, but there are tons on other threads.

Thanks for the replies 🙂
@Jacqui90: I was thinking maybe an oyster or darker ivory sash would be a nice contrast! With some beading and maybe tiny pearls to match the dress.
@Aprilsfool: I agree about my long neckline, that’s the one part that throws me off about the whole look! I hadn’t considered a multi-strand necklace, I will definitely try that out when it comes in and see how it goes 🙂

@christoffels: Yeah that sounds nice 🙂 Or even a sash in one of your wedding colours?

@Jacqui90: Yea that could work – our wedding colours are navy, blush and light gold. I wouldn’t go navy because I don’t like such huge contrasts, but a blush or light gold could be just what I’m after

@christoffels: I think light gold with pearls would look great 🙂

@christoffels: That dress is GORGEOUS. *swoon* and it fits you like a glove!! I say a blush sash would look great! And I vote necklace for sure..just don’t go TOO overboard on accessories at risk of taking away from the dress!

You could always wear a simple necklace, there’s no need to wear a “statement” piece, just something to accentuate your collarbones and neckline. I’m torn on the sash…. I think it would be great to accentuate your curves but don’t know how to tie it in the back with the corset?
Very beautiful dress! It looks great on you, I love the flowy bottom.

@christoffels: your dress is gorgeous!
If you are going to wear jewlery, make sure its not too much. something simple but elegant. your dress is already an accessory bc it sparkles so you don’t want the jewlery to take away from your dress.
You can NEVER go wrong with a cathedral veil and they come out beautiful in pictures. I am so glad i had one for my wedding
I am not a fan or sashes, but if you really want one, i don’t think it would look bad.

GORGEOUS dress! I love the shape. I love the sparkle. I love the swishiness on the bottom. I love the lace up back. Basically I love everything about it!!
