Hi everyone! I found a gown by Maggie Sottero online that I KNEW from the moment I saw was the dress I wanted. I went to a couple bridal boutiques who carried Maggie, but not the specific dress I loved. THey explained that most brides don’t end up with something they thought they’d like and encouraged me to try on others. I tried about 25 with a very open mind but they weren’t giving me that “wow” factor I wanted. I spent about an hour the other day calling a dozen different bridal boutiques for this style and finally found one that carried it! I grabbed my Mother and headed for the salon this morning. Tried my dream dress on nervously, afraid it wouldnt be all that I hoped. Came out of the room, stood in front of the mirror and BOOM, it’s the dress!! So excited!! Put my down payment on it and it will arrive in late January!

Its a beautiful dress. The bridal consultant was somewhat right about many brides not purchasing the dress they thought they wanted to begin with. But it was good idea for you to try on other dresses before you tried on this one…so that you were certain it was the one when you saw yourself in it.

@Brianna92714: Thats a beautiful dress! I wish I had the right curves to wear something like that but at the same time, I love my dress.
Every bridal consultant I talked to said the exact same thing. I found my original dress at a local bridal salon, tried it on fell in love with it. E-mailed a bridal salon in the states to see if I could get the dress a little cheaper as I felt it was a lot of money for a dress for 1 day. They responded “We stopped carrying the line 1 year ago as many brides expressed how cheap the material was for how expensive the dress way”. I went back and looked at the pictures I took and remembered how the fabric felt and knew they were right. It would be like paying $2000 for the dress but using material that would cost no more than $500. So I went back to the drawing boards and chose a completely different dress. I don’t have any pictures of the old dress, I deleted em but I will show the links to both. I don’t have pics of the new dress because the owner of the salon was in and she doesn’t like people taking pictures (from what my consultant was telling me).
First dress: Only reason I fell in love with it is because it is sooooo not me and was the first dress I saw on a poster for plus size dresses and for some dumb reason I had to try it on
MY DRESS: I have decided to go with Julietta by Mori Lee. Quality is so much better and I didn’t want to take it off when I was in the store. (I’m not really the drying type so by knowing I didn’t want to take it off, I knew it was the one).
