- Wedding: June 2012
So as some of you may know/remember, I lost my wedding set in September of last year. We tore our house apart looking for the rings and after many tears, I declared them gone. I was looking at rings but kept waffling because I was holding out hope that we’d find my rings. My husband is not all that sentimental and more of a move-on/fix-it person so he just kept telling me to find a new set and buy it. I was able to negotiate a good price with the original designer of my ering for a new set, but was still waffling. My husband told me just do it already! So I ordered the new set in April and received it early May.
This weekend my husband was cleaning out the closet of our guest room and found my original rings in a ring box! While I’m happy to have the rings back (particularly my wedding band that we took our vows with), I’m kind of sick because the 30 day period to return the custom rings is over. To be perfectly honest, while I love my original ering, I did upgrade a bit when I purchased the replacement and I’ve kind of gotten used to having the bigger diamond on my finger. I’ve decided to wear the new ERing with my old band. But now I have an extra ering and wedding band.
Now I’m trying to figure out what to do with those rings. When we first purchased my engagement ring, we talked about it becoming a family ring because I love the sentiment of it, so I think we’re going to put it away for our eldest son (on the caveat that I have to like the girl he proposes to!), but I’m at a complete loss as to the wedding band. It was custom made to fit the engagement ring, any ideas?
