In the past few days, I’ve found out that at least two of our invitations didn’t reach the intended guests. One got routed back to me as “undeliverable” (even though when I brought it the post office, they had no idea why it was undeliverable – so I just resent it in a large Priority envelope). I found out about a second missing invite last night at a wedding, when the bride came by and in the course of conversation, she mentioned that she hadn’t received her invite yet.
We sent Save the Dates pretty early (7 months in advance) because our wedding is a domestic destination wedding for a lot of our friends.
I mailed the invites on July 15. The RSVP deadline is August 30.
I think I have to just wait until August 30 to contact people we haven’t heard back from, but in the meantime, I feel so bad knowing some guests are wondering where their invites are, and I’m worried there may be more that didn’t make it and I have no idea!

We just found out last night that one of the invites didn’t make it either. Not sure where it is because we didn’t get it back, but we are hand delivering one today. It makes me nervous that there were others that didn’t make it, too. I guess we are just waiting, too, to see who doesn’t RSVP and contact them!

@jd2012: I had this problem. I went to the post office and asked if i had enough postage and the woman weighed it and said yes.
We got back about 15 invites that were undeliverable and some that didn’t get to their destination. We re-delivered the ones that were sent back, and the people that never got theirs, I sent them another invitation, luckily I ordered extra incase of something like this happening. But we did run out of invitations to send, so now we have to wait for the RSVP date to come and whoever we haven’t heard from, we will have to make phone calls.
Damn Post office!

Haha, my aunt tried to be discreet and ask if since my cousins weren’t included on the invitation if that meant they weren’t invited. (They don’t live together) I was like No way! I sent them their own invite and that’s when she mentioned they haven’t received one yet. Turns out I sent it to a place an hour away and a couple days later it came back to us as undeliverable. I guess we’ll see after the deadline if everyone else received theirs!
