Hello Bees!
I found my dress, and at David's Bridal no less! I had a very positive experience there. I did my homework before and printed out all the dresses I wanted to try on. I learned from my best friend, who got married two years ago, to be open to suggestions from the consultant. She brought me two of her picks. I absolutely hated them both on the hanger. I hated the first even more when I put in on. It had everything I didn't want. The second one had two things I was totally against- pickups and a zipper back. (I don’t need to look any bigger and I wanted a corset!) My friend and I were making fun of it as she was helping me put it on. Once it was zippered, I turned around expecting her laugh and she froze. She said, "You need to see this" and hurriedly opened the door and got me to a mirror. I was amazed at what I saw. Looking back at me was a beautiful bride. For the first time I was in love with the way I looked. The dress was perfect for me. It complimented me in all the areas that I usually try to hide. Everyone I brought with me lit up almost as much as I did.
I'm posting pictures of all the dresses I tried on to help any bees still looking get an idea of what different dresses look like on ....a size 22. You know I must love you all to reveal that secret. lol
Also, don't mind the goofy facial expressions. My friend was continuously snapping pictures. 
Dress #1
This was one of my picks. I felt like a stuffed turkey. It was too small to begin with and was not right at all for my shape.
Dress #2
This one wasn't so bad. It looked ok on me, but it was just ok. I think I liked the veil more than the dress.
Dress #3
I actually thought this could be the dress. I really liked it a first, but the longer I had it on the more I began to find things I didn't like. I don't like things drapped to one side.
Dress #4
This one wasn't so terrible. It was really wrinkled which was distracting. I didn't think it did that much for me though.
Dress #5
Consultant pick #1. I really hate halter tops. They always feel like they're choking me. I tried it on anyway though. I wasn't comfortable it it, so off it went.
Dress #6
Consultant pick #2. This dress looked terrible on the hanger. It has so may things that were wrong... until I tried it on...
... and so this dress became THE dress! I've seen a few brides around here with it. I love that so many people also have fallen in love with it. I feel like it's different from a lot of other dresses. I love the back of it and the fact that it has cap sleeves.
As a plus sized bride, I was so afraid that I wouldn't find anything that I loved. I thought I was doomed to look like a house on my wedding day. However, this forum has helped me realize that us full figured brides are beautiful and can look stunning at any size.

@RCH1286: I looked at each one of these photos and OMG you are right, the final dress choice is Da BOMB!It is so pretty, and looks great on you.
I liked both of the consultant's choices but I completely understand if that halter top didn't work for you. To me the #1 thing is to feel comfortable and free and pretty and happy in your wedding dress. Feeling like a stuffed sausage or a hobbled mermaid or whatever is uncool. With all of the running around on your feet that you (the generic you) will be doing on a wedding day, being able to MOVE is key.

Wow! They all look great on you! The third dress I tried on at DB and it looked horrible on me. Glad to know someone can rock it! The last two dresses were both my dream dresses, but both out of my price range. So I am getting a beautiful $500 empire waist that will be easy to size down after I've lost some weight.

I have the same dress. And had the same reaction that you did. I had seen it online and it looked pretty, but when they brought it to me, I actually questioned if it was the right one. But when I put it on, I loved it. You look gorgeous in it!
