*sigh* I made a huge mistake. It’s easy for me to see that now. Even after I had seriously convinced myself that MY dress was THE dress after I had tried on a few others I wanted to try on and didn’t love them…But, randomly today I went into a Davids Bridal to look for wedding shoes, and in the window was a dress I had never even thought about trying on, not because it wasn’t pretty, but because it was a fit and flare dress (which again I wanted so badly but thought they’d look bad on me. Boy was I wrong, it was stunning!). My Future Mother-In-Law said “wow look Brenna, that lace dress is so pretty.” I agreed and thought what the hell! For the fun of it I tried it on, and to my shock and displeasure, this dress was everything I wanted.
If you’ve read any of my other posts I’ve had so much regret over purchasing my dress, I bought it right after becoming engaged, and I jumped into it so fast. I wish now that I had listened to the little voice in the back of my head and left the shop that day to think about it and try on others before I bought it. But instead I spent all that money on a dress that doesn’t fit and couldn’t be returned. ALL SALES FINAL it says in big blood red letters on the receipt. I tried on lace dresses that first day, I picked out several to look at but didn’t try them. I loved lace dresses….But I bought a really modern organza dress. Every sense then I have looked at all the lovely lace dresses you ladies have worn or tried on and I was so envious! Now I don’t have it in my budget to buy a new one, and I’m not sure if there is anyone who would buy it because I waited too long and a couple people that were interested now have purchased dresses of their own. GAH!
:/ I suppose it’s not the end of the world, but I am sad! I feel silly for being so upset. Now I’m worried I will look at my pictures of me in my dress I purchased and be unhappy with them and regret my dress forever. Bummed out!!!

I have heard that some David’s Bridal will exchange for a dress that costs more? So this could always be an option if it is more expensive. Anyway, it never hurts to try! You could always contact them to see what can or can’t be done. Do you have pics of you in both dresses?

My original dress isn’t from davids bridal, it’s a maggie sottero dress. I have pics of me in my original dress, but none in the one I tried on today. I didn’t expect to buy a designer dress and then find one I loved more at a davids bridal. I was so shocked. It fit so much better, and the fit and flare style vrs the a line wasjust so amazing on me. The a line was boxy and the fit and flare gave me so much shape!
But I wont be replacing it because I just dont have it in the budget if I can’t sell it.
Davids dress (in ivory) pics certainly never did it justice. It’s so beautiful, very unexpected.

@RAWR.its.BREN: I see what you are saying about being slightly boxy, but maybe when you go in for alterations you can ask what can be done to help that if you are getting alterations. The Maggie is still a beautiful dress, it just looks like it needs some work on the very top to make it fit better, I think once that is done it will fit very differently.
I had some dress regret as well and getting a second dress wasn’t an option either but now that it has been altered and I had some bee opinions, I feel much better about it!

I think once the dress you have fits correctly it will look very similar to the DB dress.

Thanks ladies 🙂
I have found a seller who has the davids bridal for sale in my size for $500, which if I could find someone interested in buying my dress I could afford. But, I am running low on time, so I will most likely be keeping with my original dress.
Lucky for me it is a beautiful dress, though a million miles different then the davids bridal dress, it’s still lovely.
