Can you be more specific about the drama? And how close are these family members?

invite them all! Just let them know that there will not be drama and they will be asked to leave if there is. Simple

Yeah, you have to invite your husband’s brothers unless you want to cut them out of your lives entirely. It sounds like they are alcoholics. What would happen if you don’t tell them that it will be a dry wedding? I assume they won’t bring alcohol if they think it’s going to be there. Do you have a time yet? Would you consider having a brunch wedding in hopes to tone down party atmosphere.

Invite them anyways. If they can’t behave themselves have them removed. They will look like the idiots, not you guys. But if you don’t invite them, they will know, and then I think they might be even more likely to cause a scene – or threaten to at least.

My daughter is getting married, at the end of this summer, and 2 of 8 (25%) of their aunts/uncles are not invited. You do not have to invite people whose behavior is questionable, or who won’t attend to celebrate your day.
