I would go with a tinted moisturizer, it’ll be lighter and easier to work with than an actual foundation. Unless you need a ton of coverage, that should be enough for anyone :). Philosophy has one, but I think Urban Decay’s is much better, and it comes in more shades. Philosophy’s might be too dark for you if you have very light skin.

Be sure to wear a sample out of the store. Most makeup stores have kind of funky lighting and you want to be sure that it actually matches!

Oh, and good morning to you, too!

I have freckles as well and I don’t like how regular foundation looks on my skin—it covers up the freckles and I don’t feel like myself. Mineral makeup might work well for you—it will even you out but still look natural.  If you would like a more glamourous look, you might also make your eye makeup more dramatic and not worry as much about the foundation.

I could have wrote your post and I was scared of foundation. I went to Sephora 3 days before my wedding and let the consultant do my makeup with her recommendation. She started half of my face with something and the other half with their HD liquit foundation applied with a brush. Clearly, that’s the one I liked better even though she had warned me it would be a more significant difference for a non makeup wearer. I bought it and the brushes and was super happy with the result for my own wedding. It is pricy at $40 but I would totally recommend it.

I should add that some of my freckles were covered while others came through so it was a nice balance and I totally looked like myself.

I used to not wear foundation either, but I tried some out for the wedding.  I did not like Clinique’s liquid foundations at all; they got very oily and came off.  But I absolutely love MAC StudioFix.  I feel like a PR person for them sometimes because I gush about it so much.  It changed my whole makeup routine and perspective, and it’s definitely worth a little more money for the quality you get.  For big events I use Smashbox Photo Finish primer first to help the makeup last even longer.  Good luck!

@soonerpsych: OMG, are we sisters?

I have been using M.A.C. for 7 years and I wouldn’t trade in my makeup for anything. I love that they have so many kinds of formulas and you can take whatever you buy back if you don’t like it. I also use Smashbox Photo Finish. I swear we must have been separated at birth. LOL

@BLight15: I never wear foundation either, but at a bridal show this summer I had my makeup done at the Bare Minerals station and LOVED it! It wasn’t cakey at all and most of my freckles still showed through. You should go into a bare minerals store (or at sephora and ulta) and try it!
