Has anyone else seen this piece? http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/09/14/staying-celibate-before-marriage-was-best-thing-ive-ever-done/
In a nutshell, this guy says that he and his wife did marriage the “right way” by remaining virgins until their marriage. He calls people who choose not to wait for sex “floozies,” “promiscuous charlatans,” “harlots,” and “mimbos” and people living together “shacking up.” He ends the article by comparing his wedding to another couple’s, and basically says there is no way the other couple’s can even be called a wedding when compared to his (since he and his wife waited). He says the other couple’s was just a party. Oh, and he smugly agrees that he’s judging everyone else.
I think this guy is such a jerk. Look, I think that if you want to wait until marriage to have sex, that’s great. That’s your choice, and if it works for you, awesome. But not everyone is going to make that choice, and it doesn’t make their wedding less important, meaningful, or special than yours. That’s what really upsets me – his total glee in judging others. I think it actually does a disservice to everyone else who wants to remain abstinent before marriage.
So, what did you think of the article?
