We did it and it was a hit!

I haven't gotten my pro pics back, other than the link to all 400 of them, so I can't show you how it looked at the reception and after without posting all of our pics.
Friends did this at theirs, whith a pen and ink drawing of their venue instead of a photo. It was lovely, and now hangs above the fireplace in their home. We are doing this with one of our engagement photos, and are having our calligrapher collaborate with our photographer to have our vows written on the photo. The calligrapher will do the writing, and then we'll have a digital image made of that writing, which will then be transposed onto the background of the photo. I can't wait to see how it all turns out!
My friends did this for their wedding lsat year and it was a really nice idea :) Go for it.
I good friend of my family did this and it is awesome! They've been married for about 10 yrs and it's still displayed in their home. I think this is a great alternative to a guest book that might sit on a coffee table or bookshelf
Sounds cool. We did a thumbprint tree because we also saw little to no use in a book just sitting on the corner of our coffee table. Go for it! :D

@msflowerball: I got one at Target online for $50. You could have it shipped pretty quick!
Many of our friends had done the signed e-pic in our circle (like all!), so we put a small spin on it. I commissioned a local artist to do a charcoal sketch of our wedding venue (a southern plantation) and had guests sign the frame. Now its in our formal room and so glad made this choice.
Just an update... i found a framed mat you can put a photo in the middle and it says the year below, i think its suppoosed to be for grad but its pretty nice. I got it at Michaels :-)

We're thinking about getting a photo of us with a large frame for our guests to sign the border rather than a guest book, as we're only having a small wedding and are short on time to sort this one out.
Have any bees done this? Any good examples or positive feedback?
