I absolutely absolutely absolutly want to do this. I love that first one!
I love this idea and we will definitely be doing it! I haven't put any thought into how or what we'll do, but I know we'll want to display them somehow.
I think it's cool to put together and print, and sign at the bottom, as part of the wedding ceremony or after, as a way to agree to the vows again. You could also frame them with some wedding photos, or incorporate them into your album!
We're going to do a three space frame on the wall in our bedroom--one wedding photo, one honeymoon photo and then our vows in the middle. I think this is especially important for us because we took a lot of time to write vows that expressed what we felt was a unique type of commitment to make to each other, and the "honouring our commitment every day" was a big part of it.
That's really sweet. I think I'm going to leave a copy of our ceremony with our other wedding items like cards and the album.
I think this is a wonderful idea. Right now, we have the write-up of our ceremony from our officiant with our ceremony and vows in my former wedding planning binder. I thought about doing something with it, but it's many pages long so I wasn't sure if there was a good way to display it. I was thinking if/when I put together a scrap book, I'll use some of the text there.
My sister framed their vows--the cards she and her husband actually used--along with one of their favorite wedding photos for a first anniversary gift (it's paper, yo!) I'm planning on doing the same thing!
Wow, I love love love this idea. I had never even thought of framing our vows... but now I'm totally going to. Thank you so much missomally!!
We are planning on getting ours framed for our first anniversary. I had thought about writing them out very nicely, but I love the idea of using the original one from the wedding day.
We made a 'quaker'-inspired cert with our vows - his on a column on the left, mine on a column on the right, and all our guests signed it to bear witness / support.
we then framed it, and it looks really nice.
i designed it in photoshop myself and surprisingly turned out rather good looking!
i would strongly recommend doing this, especially if you wrote your own vows -- we did and made them very personalized.
And i really like West Coast Bride's idea about a 3-frame way to present the vows.
OR, make a shadow box, with your vows (as the background?), and add in copies of your invite / the lace from your dress / programs etc!
I love all these ideas! Thanks ladies! Does anyone have pictures? I'm dying to see what everyone came up with. I'd like to DIY it, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what I want.
Even though this is an old post, I completely love this idea! I am definitely going to do this!
last night my friend just told me that she did this for their one year anniversary and it hangs in their bedroom.......super romantic
I love this idea, but I fell weird because we didn't write our own vowes. We had to use the generic Catholic ones.
Same here for the Catholic vows, but i was thinking of framing our speeches, which were much more personal, and happen to be saved on my computer. Maybe excerpts from both?!
@missomally: Where did you find the 3rd example at?

Just curious to see if anyone has done (or is planning on doing) something with your wedding vows? We wrote our own vows and would like to frame them or do something with them to remind us of the promises we made. I've found a couple examples online (etsy and elsewhere) of framed vows, but none of them are exactly what I'm looking for.
Did you do anything with your vows? Would you like to? Any ideas?
