annekw:  If you hate it just wear your reception dress for the ceremony too. An option, at least 🙂

annekw:  this is terrible! can you find a seamstress to take the dress in?  I have a feeling that your stomach bulge will disappear once the dress is taken in.

How did the dress fit when you were 20lbs heavier? It seems odd that it highlights your tummy after weight loss. Hopefully a good seamstress can sort it, but TBH it really doesn’t look noticeable in the pic you posted.

or you can try a heavy duty corset!

annekw:  Did you choose the shapewear? Or did you go to a specialty lingerie shop and have them fit you for something? I suggest a trip to a proper lingerie shop if you haven’t been already.

I can almost guarantee they will solve your problem.

I’d try a better seamstress or a specialty lingerie store.

Your dress shouldn’t fit like that especially with weight loss.. If anything, it should fall better. I’d try a better seamstress before shapewear though, if it comes from a specialty shop it will be very costly in comparison.

annekw:  I’m afraid your seamstress is incompetent. Your dress should skim your body and it doesn’t. Forget the shape wear and google seamstresses don’t forget to read reviews before you hire one.

ETA you can clearly see this dress is bunching in the bust and waist areas…not fitted properly

Have you tried something like this? http://www.herroom.com/rago-6101-high-waist-brief-girdle-w–zipper.shtml

I think they are more effective at pulling in the tummy rather than the all-over sucking in of Spanx and similar shapewear, which make you smaller all over but not necessarily the trouble areas.

However, it really doesn’t look bad.  The shadows in the picture aren’t doing you any favors!

annekw:  Please ask for a refund. time is running out and you need to bring this dress to an expert. I feel terrible that you think the problem is with your body..cuz it’s NOT! you have a great figure!  So get your pretty little self over to a new seamstress and have that dress fixed pronto!   I’ll be waiting to see pictures of you in that dress at your wedding!
