Every other weekend R and I go back and spend two nights in our hometown, taking care of the two elderly men that still live with his parents. This is one of those weekends.

So one of our roommates calls me in a panic letting me know that our sink has backed up with the same icky black sewage water it did earlier this week. Only difference, I found it on Tuesday, and was able to get towels down and call maintenance ASAP. She didn't get home until it had flooded the whole kitchen, the hallway, and part of R and my room.

Which is where our two kitties live! And they were trapped in there with water that would have kept coming had my roommate not gotten home on time! They told me the problem was fixed on Tuesday. So now my poor cat was hiding, she isn't great with people, and my roommate had to force her out with a water spray gun and put our two girls in the bathroom.

And I'm 40 miles away, feeling completely helpless. This is so not okay.

Because it's 2:30 am and I have to be here to get up one of the men (a paraplegic) at 7 am. Since it's going in and out of the city, traffic takes much longer than it would going 40 miles somewhere else.

your kitties are going to be so happy to see you!

they only got a little scared, nothing very bag happened to them.  prolly the worst part for them was their sensitive little noses. .. .. .

Yeah, thanks everyone, I just feel bad for the cats now because they're locked in a teeny tiny bathroom all weekend.

And I'm still really grossed out that there's sewage all over my kitchen, hallway, and bedroom.

Oh, no!  I know it is hard when something's happening with your pets and you can't be there to take care of them.  It sounds like it might be a little scary and unpleasant for them, but they'll be OK.  Just remember they'll be OK!  Good thing your room mate is there.

Yuck! Good thing your roommate is around. Your kitties will forgive you, I promise!
