Oops, I had that happen once where an invite came “postage due” because they’d used a normal stamp when it needed a special one.  No big deal… If anything if you or DH know these people fairly well, I’d just give them a ring and apologize, and offer to buy them dinner on Sept 12th to make up for it 😛

Well that’s bizarooo…so the mailman is like “i’ll give you this letter if you pay me .60?

It’s okay, not tacky, it was a mistake.

Laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh…and if it was your SO and they can take it then play it up.

So, we sent our invites to NJ from WA state to get calligraphy done because since we DIYd our invites they didn’t come with prestamped return addresses and we wanted them written in calligraphy.  The vendor in NJ beat all the prices around here including the return address and shipping and everything.  FI’s one job was to write up the guest list in the calligrapher’s preferred format…I had compiled all the guest addresses etc.

He did, but the document he sent had the wrong RETURN address (the only part he manually typed out).  So every single envelope had the wrong return address beautifully handwritten in calligraphy on the back.  He felt horrible.  But he tells everyone about his invitation fiasco and it’s just another SH*T happens when you plan a wedding story for us to tell.

I’d just check-in and make sure everyone gets their invites…some might get returned, and you can tell the story.

It sucks, but it is what it is and I don’t think people are going to judge you for it. Nothing can be done about it now so I wouldn’t stress.

Weird! I don’t understand how the post office collected money from these people?

I wouldn’t mind if I was one of your guests, I’d probably just find it funny! No need to apologize to me 🙂

@leecy87:  Would it be easier (and more personal) to phone the people who got sent invites with the wrong stamp? If it happened to me I wouldn’t worry about the 60 cents, and certainly an apology would more than make up for any annoyance.
