Thanks everyone.  It is brown and so far only when I wiped, and just once too.  I peed again and nothing.  They say it is too early for an ultrasound so all I can do is come for bloodwork, which they warned me wouldn't tell them too much.  Besides the obvious, it could be that I irritated something with the progesterone suppository or that it is old implantation blood just making it's way out.  I am still having a total panic attack.

Try to relax. The fact that it's dark and was only once is good and would be more towards old blood making it's way out. Try to be as postitve as possible. I also have been following your story (not a creeper promise) and hope that it is all nothing to worry about. In my thoughts and prayers!

Heathaah- you are about 5-6 weeks right? Can't they even do a vaginal U/S? I thought they could do those pretty early.

I think you'll be fine! I really do. My doctor actually told me that blood just while wipping is usually nothing to worry about. And that it was brown is a good thing! Stay positive, as hard as it is -- it's truly the best you can do for you and baby.

This is sounding better and better in a scary situation. I think you'll be just fine!

Also: I've known a lot of people who have had transvaginal ultrasounds at 5 weeks. Isn't that around where you are? I'd ask just for a long shot - it could totally ease your mind if they can perform one.

Thanks everyone.  They won't do the ultrasound for a couple of days because they don't want me to panic if there is no heartbeat yet.  An ultrasound measuring for size won't tell them much.

I am not spotting now.  It was just that once.  Do you guys think that riding my bike may have done it?  We rode 9 miles on Saturday.  They asked if we had had sex, but we have not.  I am wondering if an hour on a bike seat may have had a similar effect? Maybe riding my bike led to old implantation bleeding making it's way out?

I went for my bloodwork, and I should get the results in a couple of hours.  But like they said, it really won't tell them much.  My ultrasound was supposed to be a week from Wednesday but they are moving it up to the end of this week.

    I am a nervous wreck.

@heathaah: The fact that the spotting was brown and just once sounds more like the "normal spotting" that many women have. We're all here for you and sending you lots of sticky baby dust!!!!!!!!

@heathaah: I'm sorry that they weren't able to do much for you. I think the bike riding could totally have done it - that's a lot! I know that after all you have been through it's so hard not to freak out, but it doesn't do you or baby any good. Just try to stay calm, keep positive, and I'm sure it will all be fine :)

I know it's impossible not to worry, but from the sounds of your symptons it sounds like everything is ok. My doctor told me that as long as it isn't bright red blood and heavy like a period they generally aren't concerned. And the bike ride sounds like it could have caused it. Try to take it easy and relax as much as you can - praying everything goes well for you!

I had a little bit of brown spotting just when I wiped too only like 3 times one day and everything was fine. The nurses said just to be more concerned if it was like period red and more intense than that, so I have high hopes for you! :) Good luck!

Hey heathaah, am thinking of you and crossing my fingers for you that all is fine.   I spotted brown in the first few weeks, (maybe week 5 or 6?) and also freaked out.  My doctor told me not to worry - that she only gets concerned if it's pink or red.  Brown = old blood = no concern... that's what she said, at least.  Wishing you the best.

I totally understand why you are so worried, but like the others here, I don't think you have much to worry about. Sounds scary, but completely normal. Will be sending extra sticky dust your way...

    I spotted a little at 6 and 7 weeks.

    I am now 32 weeks pregnant :-)

The fact that it is brown and was only a little bit...I have a feeling that it will all be ok.  Good luck! I know how scary it can be

Ah, so scary.  Lots of women have some spotting during pregnancy, though, and their pregnancies turn out just fine.  It's really common.  I'm keeping you in my thoughts, and hoping that you are in the majority of women for whom a little bit of spotting is normal!
