Thats a nice thing to offer you guys :)
I would probably do something selfish...like buy an amzing pair of wedding shoes, or a cool piece of jewlery to wear :)
Is there anything you want to upgrade-like flowers? Or a food offering?
I would add it to your honeymoon money, you could treat yourselves to something while on honeymoon
Maybe live music for the ceremony or cocktail hour?
That's nice!! You can save it for the honeymoon. Or add more flowers, you can always use more flowers! Or even just hang onto it in case anything comes up last minute! Bc I'm sure something will :)
They didn't just give us the cash - and they said they'd like to put it towards the wedding or reception. So, I don't want to ask to put it towards the honeymoon when they specifically said wedding or reception, ya know? We have SO many flowers. I'm trying to think of something really unique - but we're twelve days away so don't have much time to DIY anything else... Hmmm........
Since this is someone close, they would understand that you have already paid for everything since your wedding is 12 days away. Ask if you can use the last minute funding towards your honeymoon.
I'd like to put it towards the wedding or reception. Its money they worked an extra side job for - so I'd really like them to be able to "see" what they paid for... Our honeymoon is covered. :)
Thanks, girls!
We recently decided to add a late night snack to our reception. At around 10 pm piles of apple cider donuts and mini milk cartons are going to come out for our guests to enjoy. Obviously the apple cider donut idea won't really work for a wedding happening now but you could always do cookies or something of the sort. I bet everyone would love that little addition!
hmmm I can't really think of anything that $300 would cover completely. I'm thinking of extras for guests, like favors, photobooths, late night snacks (like cookies or something). Oooo unless maybe a limo rental?
I like the idea of live music for cocktail hour or dinner - perhaps a string quartet or a harpist?
@LadyCheri: If you have everything for your reception, I would just save it.
oh, I love the limo idea!!! AND THE PHOTOBOOTH! I wonder if our rental place still has one available....
I would try to figure out something fun for the guests like a candy buffet, a photobooth, etc. Not only will the person be able to see what they've paid for but all the guests will get a kick out of it.
I agree. We have a candy buffet - a really big one. I just looked into a photobooth but they are like 800 bucks to rent. WOW!! I'd love to do something along those lines though, for sure!
I love @UpstateCait: idea of a late night snack! We are hoping to do something similar for guests that work up an appetite dancing :)
Thanks for all of the suggestions! Please keep them coming - I know I'm being picky.... :) :)
@UpstateCait: I like this idea. Late night snacks! $300 would be enough for lots of ideas.
We are doing late night snacks. :) If anything, this is making me feel like we have everything ready to go! ha ha.

So, someone close to me and my FI has offered us about 300 extra dollars to go towards something in our wedding or reception that we couldn't do because of our budget. All the essentials have been paid for.... Do you have any ideas of any neat little additions that we could make? Your help would be appreciated!!
