i am a bargain hunter to the extreme, and my latest idea was to get photos to stick in our invitations… we’re having a small wedding, about 100-120 people, but we’re sending out a lot of extra invites – we both have a lot of elderly relatives who will want an invitation, even though they can’t make the trip. these relatives have also never met, seen, or heard much about the other person, so a photo would be nice so they know who we’re marrying. 🙂
i had the great idea to visit all the photo printing websites, and sign up, and claim my free prints that they all give you, and you only pay shipping. below is the list i used:
50 free prints – winkflash.com – $2.30
40 free prints – clarkcolor.com – $3.94
20 free prints – snapfish.com – $2.13
50 free photos – dotphoto.com – $3.85
so i got 160 pictures for just over $12, which makes my prints about $.7 each, including shipping and taxes! not bad.
the bonus of this was i got to see which photo services i really like… we’re planning on just getting a CD/DVD of our wedding pictures, and printing the ones we really like ourselves, through an online printing service. my favorites were dotphoto and winkfish… good prices, and easy to use. 🙂 clark color was my least favorite. there’s one that looks just like clark color, called york photos, but i couldn’t even get their website to work – i couldn’t add my photo to my cart so i could order prints!
thought this might help a fellow bargain hunter! 🙂
