I only know how to do it with a mac, I think it’s slightly different with a pc. It seems long-winded, but literally takes me 10 secs (I get all my tones this way).

1. Find the song you want as a tone on itunes, right click and choose ‘get info’ then the ‘options’ tab.

2. Click ‘start’ and ‘stop’ times and change them to whatever part of the song you want as a tone (must be only 30 seconds long). For example 0:00 to 0:30. Click ok.

3. Now the song will be showing as only 30 seconds length, right click and choose ‘create AAC version’

4. Change song back to full length by going back to info-options and unclicking stop time.

5. Find song in your general music and drag the 30 sec version to your desktop.

6. change name of song on desktop from m4a to m4r (r for ringtone is how I remember it)

7. Delete the 30 sec version from itunes, then drag the one on desktop into itunes. It will appear in the ‘tones’ folder and can then be put straight onto your iphone.
