I'm using fresh, but I'm putting them on the dinner table, so they'll be close to people's faces. ;) On the grass, I think you can get away with silk or freeze-dried, so I'd probably go with whichever was less expensive!
If you use them to scatter outside they have to be either fresh or freeze dried or else they won't be biodegradable.
On the other hand inside you should use silk ones otherwise people can slip on them when wet (you don't want lawsuit or anybody sueing you).
If you are using them on the table, either fresh or silk or freeze dried are fine. Just remember that fresh and silk are softer than freeze dried ones. Also, remember that fresh ones cost more. So all in all I would use silk ones.
I am undetermined at this point; however, at our venue, we are only allowed to use fresh, so you might want to check with your venue before you make your decision.

Who used rose petals for their wedding or are planning to?
I am looking into rose petals for the ceremony to scatter on the grass. What I am wondering is should I get Freeze Dried, Fresh, or Silk petals?
If you used a website what site did you use, how were they?
Anyone have photos of their asile covered in petals?
