I do know that Dean and Deluca sells them. Some time ago, I found a place that specialized in making them and they were in NY. If I find them I will let you know!
Am I the only one who doesn't like them?! I was obsessed with the look of them after seeing them all over Martha Stewart, etc. And so I went to Sucre in New Orleans (famous for their macaroons) and tried them and I thought "ick". They tasted like cardboard and styrofoam to me!
I've been dying to try them (anything that comes in floral or almond flavors I just love!) but haven't found some place near me yet that makes them and shipping is just too expensive :(
@texaslawgirl: You didn't have a good macaron, then! They should have a light, but slightly crunchy sweet taste to them.
Bouchon Bakery had the best ones I've come across yet!
@ Texas, maybe you got bad ones. My friend made some and they were delish! Homemade may be the way to go!
Here you go amariem... It's Mrs. Perfume's recipe

Wow thanks ladies....I dont think I would make them...not much of a baker or cook! Fiance does the cooking around here! I just show up for dinner! I want to learn though. I put Rachel Ray's 30 min meals on our registry!! I might try that site RoddyBride posted from NYC...thanks Roddie...your wedding is coming soon! Cant wait to see all your black, white and red details come together.
D.Marie (and Amariem25): I'm no baker. I don't even bake canned biscuits, so believe me when I say you can do it! The recipe requires you try it a couple times to get the hang of it, but please do try it. D. Marie --I understand your apprehension about doing it for your wedding, but if you or anyone else wants to give it a go, the recipe above (thanks for remembering RoddyBride09!) is the one that worked for me!
Thanks for posting this recipe again, RoddyBride09! I think I'm going to try these macaroons for a friend's baby shower next month.
You can thank my fast fingers for finding the link first or I am sure another bride would have posted it for you :)
Thanks D.Marie! I am super excited to see it all come together too. It can seem like everything is all over the place but they usually come together for me successfully. I guess we will see :)
That recipe looks really yummy! I think I'll make some of those sometime soon!
Aww thanks Mrs. Perfume! Again your dress and you are so beautiful!!! :)
