You can’t stop it.  She will learn if/when she crashes and burns.

You’ve done all you can do…. I’d just stand back out of the way.

I agree with the others. It all sounds pretty ridiculous, though! If it wasn’t a good friend, I would probably enjoy watching the proceedings in a horrible train-wreck reality show sort of way.

That’s really weird. Are they donating the money to a charitable cause- that would be cool! But, it sounds like they just want the money for themselves, in which case that’s kind of crass and strange.

@MrsRugbee:  WTF. um no. I’m not helping you pay for your wedding. I’d definitely sit back and watch the train wreck. Does it show if someone has donated?? Maybe her family is desperate for her to get married so they’ll donate? lol

@MrsRugbee:  LOL! Omg I would feel like a bride a thousand years ago being sold off by my mother if my mom did that.

Not only is this a train wreck, as many of the PPs have mentioned, but…

How embarrassing for her! It’s almost like she has to BUY herself a proposal! I would NEVER in a million years want ANYONE to know if my proposal was contingent on me raising money.

(Or contingent on ANY of my actions, for that matter! I wanted my man to propose to me because he WANTED to, not as an exchange for something *I* had to do.)

LOL Ok, I just saw the video and I can kind of understand where she’s coming from.  It’s like FK YOU, you want to bet on everything and then bet on our proposal?  I can see the need to compete and want to win this bet.

HOWEVER, I wouldn’t do this.  Personally.  I think it’s really weird.

At least she’s giving a prize to everyone who donates, though?
