I would look up and call your local La Leche League for guidance.  They will be well versed in your local laws, and almost certainly happy to advocate for your friend.

@MrsEdamame:  That feels like discrimination to me. I would have demanded a refund and then consult a lawyer.

It is illegal in most places. I would start by checking with the local LaLeche League for resources and advocacy assistance. Anywhere a woman has a right to be, she also has the right to breastfeed.

Wow!  That’s horrible… I’m not even a breastfeeding mom (or a mom at all for that matter) and I’m horrified that this happened. That’s ridiculous. Please direct her like PP’s have said to your local La Leche League and keep us posted on this… That is all kinds of wrong.

She needs to talk to a lawyer ASAP! How on earth did they kick her out and NOT give her a refund? I would have raised hell.

craziness. i mean i guess if she was being very inapropriate about it i could see them addressing that with her, is one thing but if she was very modest that is crazy. i hope they get in trouble. i didnt know that was illegal. interesting good to know.

@MrsEdamame:  What amusement park was it? *I’m* totally indignant for her and ready to write them an angry letter, drum up some negative PR, etc. This is very not cool.

I would love to know where this was as well! Most states have laws that protect breastfeeding moms!!! She definitely needs to contact her local La Leche League AND call someone up top at that company so that she can get a refund AND free tickets for their next visit, if they so choose to ever return to their place of business! If she’s in a state where breastfeeding moms are protected then what they did was ILLEGAL! I hope she or someone she was with can remember who told her to leave!!!!!

That is just horrible! I feel so bad for your friend! =(

yes, have her contact la leche league in her area, they will be able to help. she should absolutly contact someone about this, and find out the laws in your state and if there is anything she can do. Even if the law is not on her side I would reccomend that she contacts the amusment park, and if they don’t respond posting on their twitter or facebook page should get some attention!

I feel like there’s more to the story than we are getting.
