Thanks! I wish my local craft store had helpful, friendly employees like you lol
@thisismeAXiD: I knew some of this, but not all of it! thank you!!!
Thanks! Those are some really helpful pointers! I would have never thought about making sure pens/markers are acid free.
@Zinzerena: Certainly, that's why I thought I would share :)
@FloretteLiz: It's one of the more useful things I've learned :)
@thisismeAXiD: I'm sooo glad you did! We're supposed to get pics taken sometime before Halloween (it depends on other variables other than us and the photographer) and I soooo want a large photo to put on the wall.
This is a HUGE help, since I never understood having to pay a huge price for framing a photo. Now I do!!!! :)
I knew about the pens and stuff because of scrapbooking. :) amazing what you learn with crafts, lol.
Ah...just remembered one more thing!
@thisismeAXiD: It would be something we'd be printing at Zazzle or somewhere. Our photog is a friend who does photography as a hobby. So, we get the photos (with editing! YAY!) but that would be it.
Not that we're complaining! He's not charging us and his work is freaking amazing. :)
I gotta ask: is michael's a good place to get stuff framed??? Or does it vary between stores?
Great advice!
Martha Stewart and others recommend "LePen" markers/pens by Marvy. Do you know that line? Any thoughts?

@Jeannine @ Small Chic: Some are acid-free some are not. Like I said, it's always best to check the packaging. When in doubt, don't use it!...As far as the brand Marvy, I've never personally used it, but I haven't heard any complaints either.
We are having a guest signing book created by our photographer so while there will be white space left, it is a semi-glossy photo paper that people will be signing on (just like a regular album page). When I asked the photographer what would be best for people to sign with to avoid smudging, she recommended a super-fine tip Sharpie because it dries instantly on the paper. Now I'm nervous about that since they're not acid free! Does anyone have a recommendation for what would be best to use that is acid (and smudge!)-free??
Just wanted to let you bees know that some Sharpies ARE acid-free. After reading this, I went pen shopping today and wanted to stay away from Sharpie but I read the labels and some of them say they're acid-free! Hopefully they aren't lying!
