I need suggestion, advice on what you all use for your dogs to fight ticks. Last year I didn’t use any tick preventation other than constatnly checking and combing my dogs, they still ended up with tons of ticks.
We have 2 indoor cats and I’ve been afraid to use any kind of the tick meds out there because I hear they are very toxic to cats. My cats tend to rub up all over the dogs so I am worried. Any suggestions or advice on what others use?

Frontline plus is my personal favorite. And I would recommend spraying your yard! There is no tick prevention med for cats, (as far as I know) so you just have to check and comb them if they are in your area.

I used frontline plus for my dog and loved it! Sorry, never owned a cat so I have no help to offer 🙁

make sure you get it from your vet! their has been a problem with a knockoff of frontline being sold at pet stores and costco and it’s not effective at all. so make sure you spend a little more money on it, because it’s worth it. fleas gross me out!

@ams12: I’ve used sentinel for the past two years. Its a pill you give to your dog monthly. It is used to prevent fleas as well as heartworms. So far I have not seen a tick or had any other problems.
