we have an average suburban house but greek & italian families so we have mango, pear, cumquat (sp?), fig, mandarin, orange, plum, nectarine, lemon, olive and blackberry trees in our front and back yards plus a veggie & herb patch (thank you inlaws!)

the number of times i have said to hubby “go get a lemon”, well it has saved dinner a few times so i vote lemon tree if it will grow in your area

We’ve always had apple and pear trees…and once they matured, the amount of pies and apple/pear butter we could make out of them was amazing!!  The only problem was trying to mow underneath them, as they attracked bees like crazy from dropped fruit.
