I'm feeling frustrated.....we've been trying to decide when the best time to buy a new house would be, so last week we got a pre-approval for a loan.  This weekend we went house hunting and found a bunch of houses and was able to look at a few on Sat.  Then last night we went and saw a few more and fell in love with one of them.  We talked with our realtor and decided to go ahead and put our house on the market and make an offer on the house we looked at.  Before doing all this our realtor made sure that we weren't looking at any bank owned houses, since our loan is based on selling our home first......The house we looked at last night said nothing about being bank owned or going into foreclosure, so we thought we were golden......just got a call from our realtor and she just found out that the bank will be taking over the house July 1st.  So she is trying everything to see if the lender will hold off a month or so for us.....This wouldn't be a problem if our house sold quickly....but I don't want to have our house sell and then us not have a house to move into......It's just really frustrating, when you've done all you can do on your side and everything was looking good and now the house that you want you might not be able to get......kinda sucks....went from being very excited to really bummed.....please keep good thoughts that by some miracle they hold off a month or two, PLEASE!!  Sorry for the vent, but needed to vent to someone!

It would be in the banks best interest to hold off, since it saves them from having to do the work, and they'll get paid if you buy the house. I'm definitely sending good vibes your way! I hope it works out.

Hubs and I just made an offer on a house today, so our fingers are crossed too! We're lucky, in that we don't own a house already.

Thanks ladies....we aren't out just yet.....husband is going through his credit report and cleaning it up....unfortunately he had an ex-wife who forge his name on loans through the bank she worked at and he didn't know about them until they divorced and he took her to court to pay on it, but of course since his name was on them he was responsible too!!!!  Even though the charges were all makeup and women's clothing....so he sucked it up today and took the money we had saved for a down payment and was able to settle for a little less than what was owed.  This loan that he is getting doesn't require any money down, which should help us out and still leave enough in the bank in case my house doesn't sell!!  Thanks for all the good vibes I'm pretty sure they are helping!!!!  Will keep ya updated!!!  And mrstilly good luck to you and your husband on your offer....fingers are crossed for you!!!

Update on our house that we wanted....Well they didn't give the homeowners an extension and instead it went to the bank.....Not sure why they would let that happen especially knowing that we gave them a full price offer....I feel really bad for the old homeowners now having a foreclosed home....But it went back on the market last tuesday and we put our offer in that morning and found out Friday that they accepted our offer and the house is ours.....so we will be closing around or before Sept. 23rd!!!!  We are so excited, even though we had to pay $900 more than what the original price was before the bank took it!!!  Now we are going to be putting my house on the market.....so keep those good thoughts coming, PLEASE!!!
