    Hi ladies, I have been driving myself crazy over the last week over whether or not I could be pregnant.  I definately feel "off".  I ovulated on 11/05 and gave in about 30 mins ago with a HPT.  BFN.  :(

    Is it too soon?  Has anyone ever tried testing as early as I have and gotten a negative only to find out later you were pregnant?

    Waaaay too early.  I am not judging, because I tested at 7 dpo and again this morning at 8 dpo, and both negative as well.  I think the earliest I have seen someone get a + is 9 dpo, and this comes from lots and lots of stalking charts on Fertility Friend.  The only reason I tested yesterday is because this is my first month, and I wasn't sure if FF got my O date wrong, and I tested again this morning because I (have no self control) sort of want to test every day until AF and if I get a +, be able to answer those "how early did you get your BFP?" questions.  I have a problem. Haha....

    @cowgirlace:  LOL!  Yeah I know exactly what you mean.  I seriously wanted to start testing 24 hrs after ovulation.  I'm shocked I waited this long! lol.

    @MrsJ19:  I agree with cowgirl, way too early.  I feel like 10 DPO is a good day to start testing early, but only if you're using a sensitive test like First Response Early Result or Wondfo.

    I understand that you are feeling off, but keep in mind that some symptoms can be caused by post-O hormone flucuations.  Come join us on the POAS thread!  We love to obsess about symptoms and pee sticks :)

    @MrsJ19:  Definitely too early =)

    The reason? Let's say an egg was released 11/5. Sperm meet and fertlize the egg, travel down the fallopian tube to the uterus, implant - all this take 5-10 days minimum. HCG isn't high enough to be detected on a HPT (even FRER's and Wondfo's) until at least 72 hours after implantation. So even if you implanted at 5DPO, the earliest you could test is 8 or 9DPO. And like Macintosh said, definitely do it with a FRER and with first morning urine. Only a few more days!!!!!!!! You're almost there! =) GL

    @ChuckNorris:  You changed your icon? Or am I crazy?

    I ditto everyone else. The egg usually doesn't implant until 7DPO at least; usually a little bit later than that, then you have to wait a few days etc. That's why the TWW sucks because you want to test, but it will most likely be negative even if you are going to get a BFP if you test too early.

    @MrsJ19:  Yes. You defintely tested too early. I first tested at 10dpo and got bfn. Then again at 19 dpo and got BFP. Yey!, but the roller coaster of emotions could have been avoided by testing not that early. Just wait until at least the day your AF is due. Patience os good now!

    AF is due 11/19 and last night I had cramps, very similar if not the same as AF cramps.  Sigh.  Not sure what to make of it.

    @MrsJ19:  Same here!  Ugh!  I just wish AF would come already so I would stop getting my hopes up.

    Just to be helpful, thought you might like to know that I had a clear BFN (no evap, no nothing) at 11DPO which, based on my 8-10 day LP's was a day late so I assumed I was definitely out, no question. (and had a few glasses of wine that night in "celebration" ...)

    At 14DPO I still hadn't gotten AF so I tested again and got a line. Wasn't super strong, but it was definitely there.

    Use the ladies on the POAS board as support. They are WONDERFUL and will help talk you down off the Pee-Stick-Ledge.  You'll also almost always find someone who is on a similar cycle to you so you guys can be test-date buddies, and you can support each other.  I was super-lucky in one of my test-buddies because she got her BFP too and we are now on the same due-date board! But I still miss (and check in on) some of the other ladies.

    I've never even heard of someone getting a BFP that early! Wait at least 4-5 more days.
