It is my first time TTC. I am at CD15 and am expecting O on Monday based in my fertility calendar. I have not been temping or charting really, but based on the start days of AF over the last 2 months I have a 30-31 day cycle. I will start charting and temping if this cycle doesn’t work.
I took my first OPK Tuesday (CD 11) with a negative result. On Wednesday I got the peak fertility smiley face, which stays on the test for a couple days. I tested again Thursday and Friday even though the smiley face stayed and checked the lines on the actual tests, which for darker each day but never approached the darkness of the control line.
Today (CD 15) I tested 2 times and got a negative result each time. When I checked the lines they were about the same darkness as yesterday. I also noticed EWCM for the first time today when wiping.
What gives??? I’m taking the tests as directed in the manual. Is it possible I already ovulated? Does the test show negative right after you ovulate
Darling Husband and I have BD every day since Tuesday and are planning to continue for 4 more days then move to once every few days just on case.
I know it’s early and I shouldn’t stress out about it but I just want to throw it out the window.

hollyberry4: dont stress too much!! What kind of calendar are you using? is it in ana app? Cause I know you havent been charting per say so just keep in mind those charts from apps etc are just “guessing” when you might O unless you input actual personal data. Some women O super early in their cycles and some late like me…. My first cycle off BC I O on CD29….. and the next CD19 LOL… (granted that was my system just regulating itself from coming off the pill… but basically it’s not always the same every month. Some people have long LP some have short.
With the OPK’s I know the one I had said to start it on EXACTLY CD5…if I started after the results may not be right because what the opk is trying to track (I think) is from the start what your normal hormone level is….(generally most women are still on or just finishing their AF) and when you spike up a week or 2 or however many days later when you are getting ready to O….then it has a chance to detect the change in levels. If you started your opk on CD11 it may have been a little late to start it….(thats basically what happened to me). However if you’ve been BD since the beginning of the week and you got EWCM today then KEEP AT IT because this could be it…. you may be O right now!!
As far as I know the test will show as negative after O has happened so yes it is possible it may have already but since your getting the physical signs you can actually see, its hard to say!
Best advice right now is just keep BD for the next few days or even every second day and that should cover all the bases.

shanbp: thanks so much for the info! I just used an online calendar based on the info from my last 2 menstrual periods. However I just downloaded an app so I can start actually charting! I didn’t even pay attention to the day I was supposed to start the OPK, so that should be it! I think we will just BD every day for a while if we can haha and start fresh next cycle if it doesn’t work! Thanks again!
