I love my dress, but I was extremely aggravated when it came in. I normally where a size 6- the sample I tried on was a bridal size 6 ( so more like a 2) and although they were able to squeeze me in it and get it zipped- I couldn’t breathe. The lady kept insisting I needed to order a bridal 8. I asked her multiple times to order me a 10 but she insisted that it would be too big. Well, my dress came in- and it’s tight- not extremely tight but I would still need to either 1. Lose a 1/2 to 1 inch around my hips or 2. Have it “eased” by alterations. I explained to the woman when picking up my dress that I was frustrated- but she kept insisting that there was no note of me requesting the 10 and that I “just need to lose a few pounds… You have plenty of time” . UGH. So now (although I was trying to anyways) I am extra motivated to lose. Any weightless tips- I’ve been doing spin, pilates, powerflex (weights and stretching), and I think I’m going to start running- bringing my total workouts to 7 or so per week. I’m a vegetarian but I eat fish. Just a little background info for any weightless tips lol. Thank y’all!

I’m sorry. 🙁 That’s incredibly frustrating. All I can say is be careful with all your workouts. Your body needs time to repair itself and pushing yourself too hard constantly *can* work against you. Make sure you are taking time to rest and allowing your body to do it’s own thing between workouts. I’m sure you’ll make your goal! 🙂

Try hot yoga, it’ll help with the wedding planning stress too. I’m a vegetarian too but I def eat too much pasta and breads- I’m not overweight at all but I worry how my dress will fit when it comes in – I am normally size 6 and my Allure dress is actually size 6. I am going to start planning healthier meals, since half of weight loss is eating right – I work out 4 or 5 days a week but need to cook more fish and lean proteins.

Drink LOTs of water with lemon. Also, like PP, said don’t work yourself too hard. Take a weekend break or something. I’ve lost 26 pounds from just eating right, exercising 2-3 times a week, and walking instead of driving.
By the way, how rude of that lady to tell you that you have time to to lose weight. No matter if you do or don’t that’s rude to say. I would have slapped her lol.

I just have to react to how RUDE it is of the sales lady to tell you to “just lose weight”…….
Makes me sad.
OP: be kind to your body. Don’t work out too hard, ok?

Thanks guys, yeah it’s hard because I’m not really overweight either and that makes it even harder to lose- I’m 5’8″ so at a size 6 I’m not really “big”. I am definitely considering the hot yoga, though. It zips up and everything and I don’t have the “back fat” but it is tight around my hips (it’s a fit and flare). I am pretty confident that it will be fine, and my wedding isn’t until december, but it is nice to have a little moral support.

I’d be careful losing any more weight (and that woman should be fired for telling a customer, especially one who is 5’8 and wears a 6, to lose weight. At a 6 you are probably already at or below recommended weight for your height).
Would Spanx help?

Yeah, if i put on a pair of spanx it might help keep things in, so to speak. Even if I do lose the weight I was planning on wearing spanx so as to not have any lines and just a smoother overall appearence.
