I’m being induced in 10 days. I wasn’t going to put the sheets on our crib until we got back from the hospital cause we have cats and I dont want them jumping in there while were gone. Well I went to get it set up today anyways and ran into a huge problem!
The sheets dont fit our mattress! I think the mattress is closer to the 52″L and 28″W and is definitely 6″ deep. It’s also SUPER square and firm.
My sheets are just standard Circo crib sheets from Target. They are already washed. There is NO getting those sheets over the mattress and mattress pad.
Are mattresses normally 5″ deep? My mattress must be on the bigger side. There is no way I’m going to get the sheet over the mattress.. I get it on 3 corners but there is just no getting it on the 4th.

@gpsp2B: Can you use the elastic straps that you use on larger mattresses when the sheets won’t fit on the deeper mattresses?

I actually had trouble with my target sheet too. My husband managed to get it on but it took a lot of stretching and pulling.

If they don’t fit, they don’t fit… Crib sheets are supposed to fit VERY tightly, so I’d get new ones!

@BrandNewBride: LOL i don’t know what happened.. but my FI got them on just fine. I seriously fought with it and was like I’m not going to rip the sheet…
I was going to return the crib mattress because i was determined it was the specs of our mattress being on the very big and thick side, and we didn’t use a big bedding set so my sheets are important to our nursery theme, so here I was about to go return the mattress and my FI tried and got them on no problem…
O_o Men I swear.
