Where are all of the fabulous full figured gals wearing wedding dresses in these styles/silhouettes?!? I LOVE to see a curvy and confident woman rocking a more fitted dress that compliments her figure and her style!!!
I love my Alfred Angelo 2083...she IS the dress for me, curves and ALL!!
ETA...SORRY for the huge pics!!
That dress is gorgeous & you look awesome in it!!!
WORK IT!!!!!!!!
Awww, thanks "date" twin...it means a lot coming from you, you ROCK Fiorella!!
I love that dress! I am going to be trying on every style of dress out there. People have this "style" idea of what works on plus sized brides and it's ridiculous. You look great!
I LOVE you in this dress!!! I'm wearing a dropped waist fitted gown and love it!! While I didn't get flak from people about my top choices I did get comments about how large chested women shouldn't wear sweetheart, or that an a line gown is more flattering...really?? Not on everybody! I have a modified sweetheart neckline and it's NOT a line. :)
I love seeing you in this dress, it looks like it was made for you!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
WOW!! What a gorgeous dress and what a stunning bride you'll be!
you look great!!!! mine is a mermaid too! heres me clipped in the sample... i think i will add more crinnie underneath to make it flare out more!
Here's me in mine, its like 3 sizes to small, but you get the idea. Mine should be in next month!
Ladies you all look gorgeous! I tried on tons of A line dresses that were supposed to be "so flattering" and felt ugly in every one but the moment I put on a beautiful lace mermaid gown I fell in love! I will not try on any other silhouette now!
@Orange_Snakeskin: We'd love to see your dress once you find THE one!!
@ Our wedding: WoW! That gown looks stunning on you.
All of you ladies look phenomenal.
@Pilotsgirl09:...I did get comments about how large chested women shouldn't wear sweetheart
I hear ya girl and let me just say I am so sick of hearing people say this! The lady at the first bridal shop I went to made a similar comment. Seriously?! I agree with you ladies...if we have curves, we should show them! I was a 40C but thanks to weight-loss I am now a 38D (could probably even go with a C-cup). The only thing FI has requested in regards to the dress is that is show some cleavage. Neither of his exes had much in that department so he loves it when I wear clothes that flatter my figure. I say if you love it, go for it!!! :-)
@Pilotsgirl09: I got a comment that "bustier women shouldn't wear strapless."
Um, really? We have the goods to hold them up. ;) Duh. And mine is strapless. And not A-line either. A-line looks BAD on me; made me look like a boat.
Btw you all look so beautiful in your dresses!
helenc32 and AmeliaBedelia I know!! We TOTALLY have what it takes to make strapless looks amazing! So glad there's other people with me on this one! I had comments from the gal at the bridal shop and she kept trying to bring me a lines... I think the more of us who go for these types of dresses will hopefully change people's minds about what looks beautiful on different body types. Check this out:

This (below) is actually a bridal gown that she had done in black for the SAG awards:

GO CURVY GIRLS!!! You all look fabulous in your gowns!! I tried on a lot of dresses and struggled a bit because some of the salons didn't have many samples in a size larger than 10. So happy to see other girls finding dresses that love their curves, too!
just buzzing by to tell you gals, you look fantastic! I am pear-shaped myself and I always get a-line shapes recommended and I hate the way I look in it. I LOVE being pear-shaped and don't want to hide it AT ALL. Go girls!
Beautiful dresses!!! I am so glad that this thread is growing, you all look GREAT!!
Here's my Jenna by Maggie Sottero, will be ordered in a size 16!
I never ever thought I could rock my curves in a fit&flare / mermaid type dress!
Ok, I'm sooo glad I came across this post; it's just what I needed to see/read. Within the last week or two I've been thinking I'd forego the idea of having a fitted/mermaid dress and go with an a-line dress to avoid looking like a stuffed burrito in my dress. But dammit I'm going to try on a-lines this next time around when I go to David's Bridal. I did try on (well, I TRIED to) a fitted dress this past weekend but what do you know the dress was too small and I couldn't even pull it down past my hips! So, I passed on that. About a year ago I tried on a mermaid type dress at DB but it wasn't a pretty sight (and the dress couldn't zip up) so I just thought ok, I won't go there. Why limit myself? I'm going to try on all kinds of dress styles and see what I like. Thanks for helping me realize this! :)
I almost got aniston....I still LOVE that dress and think about it often. I never in a million years thought a trumpet/fit n flair would ever work on me, but I felt so va va voom!

Ignore the silly veil. LOL
huge picture, sorry.
I am torn between a Maggie Sorrent and a La Sposa. I never thought I could rock these styles but I am so glad I listened to Kim at Cuvrygirls bridal in VA!!!

This is my dress. My mom and sister have pistures of my in it on their phones, but they wont give them to me b/c they think I will show people lol.
I'l lpost one when it comes in.

Everyone looks fabulous!
I went shopping for my dress sying now mermaid/trumpet dresses and no bling... and this is what I walked out with. Funny how things work out, eh? :)

Lovely! Glad to see I'm not the only one hoping for a dress like so... hope mine will look as good on me as it does on all of you girls! gorgeous!!!!
This was a runner-up but I didn't like how it pooched when I sat down. I wanted to be comfortable so I had to say no to this beautiful dress by Maggie Sotterro. Size 14. I believe the style is "Jenna".

@Klb5882: What style number is that Jasmine Couture dress? It's beautiful!
@PriscillaP: Thanks so much!
it is T394, it is from the Fall 2010 couture line. It was a good price too. I got it for 1200, with hallow to hem and free alterations! I wear a street size 16 and had to order it in an 18.
First off I think ALL of you look absolutely gorgeous in your dresses!!!
@TerraWellness:I am in love with that dress especially! you look great it in!
Here she is!! Pre-alterations...Sorry for such big pics. And sorry for posting everywhere I just wanna show her off :D
